Daycare by Day, Sass Queen by Night: My Real Life in Haifa

Wine glass in hand, attitude on max—Sassy in Haifa, that’s me.

Let me guess—when you picture Haifa, you think: Baha’i gardens, coexistence, falafel.

Cute.

But that’s only part of it.

Let me introduce myself. I’m a woman who believes that self-expression, humor, and a little bit of spiritual sparkle can turn even the most boring days into something worth celebrating. I started this blog to document my life here in Haifa—both the real and the romanticized parts of it. I want to share stories that mix city life with cosmic energy, practical tips with personal confessions, daily life as a single Jewish woman, and, yes, a healthy dose of sass.

So welcome to my blog, Sassy in Haifa. This isn’t about perfection—it’s about passion and personality.

I accidentally ended up in Haifa after living on a kibbutz for seven months. I instantly fell in love with this city and have been in a monogamous relationship with it for six and a half years. In the beginning, I thought I was ready to take on the chaos. I was wrong. But also right. Because this place is a mix of magic, madness, spirituality and loudness.

Do you ever feel like you’re living a double life? One minute I’m singing the Hebrew version of “Wheels on the Bus” with toddlers in class, the next I’m manifesting dreams and plotting my next big creative move.

I’m a childcare specialist by day, but a sass queen by night. If I’m not chasing toddlers or negotiating my bus seat, you’ll catch me either sipping coffee in the German Colony, hanging out with my cat or dabbling in candle magic. Yep. I said it, candle magic.

Israel is a deeply spiritual place. You’ll find rabbis on every corner, nuns walking in downtown and people of various religions praying on the streets. But the minute I mention candle magic, people freak out. You can relax. I use candles to manifest things into my life. Once I tried using a Ouija board, and while it was a fun experience, I suggest leaving the dead alone.

Oh, you thought this was going to be another average blog, didn’t you? Well, surprise! I’m the Sass Queen of Haifa, and this isn’t your typical “let’s hold hands and sing kumbaya” type of vibe. I’m here to bring you the real, the raw, the messy, the maddening and the refreshingly bold side of life in Haifa.

So, yes—I’m that woman, loud and unapologetic.

Welcome to my world. I’m just getting started.
