Deniers of the Genocide of the Armenians
It is true that we are angry each time a denier of the Holocaust of the Jewish people dare to speak out and dare say that the Holocaust of the Jewish people by the hands of the Nazis and their followers never existed.
The world’s heart is like an iceberg that continues to float as if the Genocide of the Armenian people never took place.
We need to protest and shout out loud – the Genocide of the Armenians did take place.
I, Arie Rosenberg, a Jew and an Israeli, son of survivors of the Holocaust, living nearly 68 years in the State of Israel, the land of the Jews, am ashamed of the different Israeli Governments that until this day, have not dared or may I say, are afraid to acknowledge for various political reasons the Genocide committed against the Armenian people by the Turklish / Ottoman authorities in World War I.
So for all those who have “forgotten”, during the years 1915-1917, the Turks killed 1,500,000 (one and a half million) Armenians only because they were of Christian faith which was different to the Moslem faith of the Turks.
I would like to make an analogy to Pastor Martin Niemöller’s words about the cowardice of German intellectuals following the Nazis’ rise to power.
“First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.”
To those who do not yet understand, what is currently happening with the Islamic fanatics who are killing people of other religious faiths, destroying cultural sites and treasures and raping and selling people as slaves is bringing us into dark times that will go down in history.
Finally, I would like to ask those who are moral and whose international standards of morality are still important and dear to their hearts to acknowledge the Genocide of the Armenians by the Turks / Ottomans.
