Do You Focus on the Good Things in Your Life?

The Revelation of HaShem in This World

Usually, HaShem’s revelation in this world is a mixture of kindness (midas hachesed) and mercy (midas harachamim), meaning you clearly see mostly good in this world.

However, there are exceptions when judgment
(midas hadin) is revealed.

When you listen to the news, you begin to think that everything is bad.

The news focuses on what is wrong.
People respond to sensational news.
You soon begin viewing the entire world as a bad place.

The Reality

You are able to walk.
You are healthy.
You are intelligent.

The sun rose this morning.

These blessings easily become meaningless to you
because you grew accustomed to them and
stop appreciating them.

Eventually, this becomes a way of thinking.

Sometimes, you begin to wonder:

Could something bad happen?
Could HaShem do something bad to me?

However, stop and look at your life.
You will begin to appreciate all the goodness that
the Ribbono Shel Olam (Master of the Universe) gives you.

Most of what the Ribbono Shel Olam does for you is wonderful!

This is not merely lip service.
He provides you billions and billions of
good things all the time.

Rabbi Avigdor Miller said:

“The reason there are handicapped people
and people with other problems
is so you should appreciate what you have!”

Stop looking at other people and thinking
they have more than you.

Focus instead on what you have—
or even consider those who have less than you.

Then you will appreciate all
HaKadosh Baruch Hu gives you.
You will develop a genuine sense of gratitude.

Just keep focusing on the good He does for you.

Look at the Positive!

You realize that there is no reason to assume
HaKadosh Baruch Hu (HaShem the blessed the one)
will do something bad to you.

Why would you assume that,
when almost everything He does for you is clearly good?

Do you focus on the good things in your life?

What are you thinking.
