Donald Trump Please Save Us
I never thought I would ever write anything positive about Donald Trump. But the time has come. President Trump please save us from our Premier and his government. Ever since his election our country has been on one long downhill slide. Yes, I know this is my personal opinion but it is also the opinion of hundreds of thousands of Israelis who have been demonstrating for more than two years against this government and the opinion of many of our leading defense leaders -past and present. But simply I ask my fellow Israeli citizens to see where we were before Bibi was elected and where we are now. I of course think we are on the way to total disaster and the fact that our hostages are still in Gaza two months after those terrible pictures of two of our hostages is only the beginning of the description of our present terrible national condition. I , as others, have written enough about where we are now- fighting a war which no longer justifies the price our young soldiers are paying and watching our relations with the world outside Israel deteriorate and yes I also know how anti-semitic and hypocritical the leaders of European countries are and have been! And I still believe we should be in a different position today!
Today, Trump is meeting Bibi and will present him with a 21 point plan to end the war. You can read about the 21 points in the news media but basically according to leaks of the plan all of the Israeli hostages will be released in the first 48 hours once the plan begins and the Israeli forces will start pulling back from Gaza at the some time in the future and they will be replaced by forces belonging to Arab countries like Egypt, Saudi Arabia and even the Palestine Authority!
And -The Arab countries will start rebuilding Gaza!
And- somewhere down the line there is talk of a two-state solution!
Yes, this sounds like a dream to many of us here and a nightmare to Bibi and friends—
And this requires the agreement of Israel and Hamas- can you imagine that???
This will not be easy and maybe not possible buy for many of us here this is a chance to end the war and stop the destruction of the State of Israel pre-2023!
Do we really trust Hamas -NO!
But this is the only real game in town to stop the national disaster which is happening here right now-It will not be easy and every step will be a problem , but it is better than the other option of continuing the national dive into political hell!
My personal opinion-if something does not get started today. we are headed to national disaster and if something does get started we have a chance of returning to the Israel for which many of us have sacrificed so much in the past one hundred years. An Israel worthy of the sacrifices of hundreds of thousands of young soldiers in the past two years and in the past eighty years.
Yom Kippur, which will be “celebrated”. in a few days, is for those of us who were here in 1973 the ultimate symbol of who we were then. The young soldiers saved all of us. The young soldiers of today, have done the same and they and we deserve a better country than the Israel that exists today.
Hopefully, today may be the beginning of a new Israel!
President Trump please help us get back on the road of recovery!!! You seem to be the only one who can do it now!
