Dream Big
A dream
A purpose
A hope
A vision
Zot tikvateinu – these are our hopes
This post was inspired a few weeks ago when I had come across an article that said it was more important to dream big than to dream small. I thought it was unusual as I had always heard : start with small goals. So I was curious was there was something more to dream big. And then A few days after that was martin Luther King day.. “ I had a dream ..”
Israel had a big dream. They handed over Gaza many years ago . they uprooted their own people from established homes, businesses and thriving communities .The dream was peace. Was that a big dream?
In tikvah there is a hope and a vision.
By Dream big – we legally fortified our g-d given land and made it a medinah, a State. And yes they try harder and harder to destroy us . But we continue to build, to grow, to innovate, to contribute, Yes we dream big.
I recently heard, a Holocaust survivor speak- in person-they are dwindling in numbers . I needed to hear her story I needed an infusion of that resilience and recognition of miracles in the darkness . She as each survivor had her own unique story. She revealed things that I had wondered about intrepidly and sadly it was verified. Nonetheless after all of the hell she endured, and I mean one hell after another , after the liberation She became college educated, She married and raised two fine sons, worked and contributed to society. She never spoke about her story until recently after she entered into her 90’s. She spoke with elegance and honesty. She said..What was the survivors big dream ? To live in FREEDOM.
Purpose – is your why, the deep reason you exist, your core why gives meaning
Dream – is imaginative and a wish, sparks inspiration
Vision – is a clear detailed picture of a future goal , acting is a roadmap to achieve it, vision provides direction.
Moses was a great leader carrying out a special vision from G-d, including walking in faith.
Think Big, Believe big ,and the results will be big.
Dream big. Setting ambitions, inspiring goals that push you beyond the ordinary and beyond your current limits. Moving beyond the ordinary.
But big is relative, it can be a s simple as more connectivity, or self care.
Quiet meaningful goals are also big.
G-d can achieve much more than we can imagine or dream, yet he can guide us and lead us to great achievements, We Are Partners.
Psalms 20;4 May he grant you your hearts desire and fulfill all your purpose.
This links fulfilled dreams to G-d to a larger purpose. Therefore trust in G-d, Hashem, have the bitachon, belief that nothing is impossible with divine help.
Tehillim 120;1 Shir hammalot B’shuv Hashem Et Shivat Tzion Hayiinu Kecholmim
” When the Lord restored the fortunes we were like dreamers”
When Hashem restores the captivity of Zion we will have been like dreamers”
We open up our eyes in divine imagination.
Exile: A dream
Geulah/redemption; the awakening
As the Jews return to Israel we will also see ourselves as dreamers on one level, we will realize we were not fully aware in exile ,yet we will realize and know that our sub-super conscious kept us connected, not just to hope, but to a vision, to a purpose, to a dream.
Just as Yosef dreamt beyond his prison we dream of a world where we as Jews can live in true freedom.
Tehillim 145;line16;
Poteach Eit Yadecha Umaspiah Lechol Chai Ratzon
The maker of the world opens his hand and fulfills the desire of every being.
May we see a true awakening in this world and see the lighted path to eternal Freedom
Bkarov, soon Amein
