Esther: In Courage and Faith

Long ago, there was a story
of a Jewish girl that was meant for glory.

She was born into an orphaned home
didn’t know she was destined for the throne.

Until one day, a soldier arrived
Took her to the kingdom. she would never survive

so her Uncle Mordechai said keep quiet.
Don’t let them know you’re a Jew, they would riot.

Esther gets bathed in bubbles and jewels
sits and waits quiet. silent. confused.

She waits for a year hoping she doesn’t get called
by the king of Persia from the maidens he hauled.

She becomes the queen kept in luxury
she doesn’t know which of the people she’d be.

Kept herself quiet, so no one would know
She was a girl from a Jewish home

Until one day, There poses a threat
Haman gets some men to take a bet

Let’s kill the Jews, He says to his guys
Mordechai listens. He’s in a disguise.

He gets word to Esther, passed all the gates
that she should approach the king in his place

She returns a message to her uncle Mordechai
“Are you crazy, she says. Do you want me to die?”

The king doesn’t take anyone who’s uncalled.
If I approach him too closely we will all take the fall.

“I’m scared, I’m afraid. I don’t know what to do.
For so long, I pretended that I’m Not a Jew”

Mordechai sighs and throughly weeps
He says “Esther Remember your Courage lies deep”

She approaches the king with fear in her eyes,
but her faith and her courage will surely arise

The king then offers her all that she needs
to save all the Jews and gifts to proceed

She lets Mordechai know that the tables have turned
their prayers have been answered for all that they’ve yearned

Young Esther, the maiden, the orphan, the queen
found the courage and faith to truly be seen

So this is a story of courage and faith
For all generations, we need to relate

You are a Jew at the parties and gates
So, yes, Lead with Love, but Know When to Hate

Now is our time to stand up and speak loudly.
We are the Jews and we must live it proudly.

I’m a Jew. I’m Israeli. I’m human. I’m Godly
Now tell me again, WHY YOU THINK YOU CAN HARM ME?

Peace. ☮️
