Europe, Be Like Moses

Many people from Arab and Muslim countries flee to Western nations such as France, Germany and the United Kingdom.

They leave their homelands because they lack basic rights: freedom of speech, political expression, women’s rights, and personal freedom.

In the West they can grow without favoritism or nepotism in employment. They can use their education, intelligence, and talents to build a future.

But here is the surprise!

Many arrive in Europe still carrying the same mentality of blind obedience to rulers and religious leaders. After October 7 some groups influenced by extremist ideologies even became louder in Europe. It was a shock, the same mindset they fled from, now repeated inside open societies.

This raises a serious question:

Why escape regimes of control and religious extremism only to bring the same ideas into Europe? If they hated such systems back home, why try to rebuild them again in the West?

Here Europe must remember the story of Moses.

When Moses led his people out of Egypt, they were free from Pharaoh’s slavery. But freedom of the body is not the same as freedom of the mind. The people still carried the mentality of slavery and fear. When the time came to enter the Promised Land, they refused out of fear and lack of faith.

So God gave them forty years in the desert. During that time, the old generation that had lived in slavery passed away. A new generation, born in freedom and raised in independence, was the one that finally entered the land under Joshua’s leadership.

The wisdom is clear.

A generation raised on fear and blind obedience cannot build a free society. Only a new generation, born and raised in freedom, can.

Europe must learn this lesson.

It should not allow ideologies of hate and blind obedience to take root. Instead, it must invest in raising a new generation that values freedom, equality and peace.
