From the Past to the Age of Uncertainty

“Nature will not forget those who fail to fulfill the law of their being. The law of human beings is wisdom and goodness, not unlimited acquisition.” [Quote Investigator by Robert M. Hutchins]

“The time is now near at hand which must probably determine whether Americans are to be freemen or slaves; whether they are to have any property they can call their own; whether their houses and farms are to be pillaged and destroyed, and themselves consigned to a state of wretchedness from which no human efforts will deliver them.

The fate of unborn millions will now depend, under G-d, on the courage and conduct of this army. Our cruel and unrelenting enemy leaves us only the choice of a brave resistance, or the most abject submission. We have, therefore, to resolve to conquer or to die.” [Address to American troops before the Battle of Long Island, 1776]

The beginning — in David Rubin’s “Trump and the Jews”, he included one whole chapter on “The Obama Years.” He commences with the observation that the rise of Obama to the presidency was a time of great excitement for a large segment of the American Jewish community.

Many Leftist Jews supported Obama because they liked his views on many social issues and even his foreign policy positions, while some were conflicted about his positions on Israel and the Middle East. Unlike many of his predecessors, Obama didn’t seem to have a natural affinity with Israel. Having been raised as a Muslim in Indonesia by a secular, Communist mother and a Muslim stepfather, and having idolized his late father, who also had been a Muslim, Obama was determined to show that the Islamic world was actually a friend of Western civilization!!

Just 7 years previously, the US had been shaken to the core by the 9-11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center in NYC. From his mouth:

“The sweetest sound I knew is the Muslim call to prayer.” [Barack Obama-Cairo speech, 2009]
“The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.” [ His speech at the UN, 2012]
Rubin talks about living near Muslim towns in Israel and knows very well the Muslin call to prayer. He also knows the occasional call “Itbach Al Yahud” meaning “Kill the Jews”. The sweetest sound that Obama knows!
Obama was the 1st American president who had close alliances with avowedly anti-Israel, and anti-American, Arab-Americans. This included Rashid Khalidi, an activist and former spokesman for WAFA—the news agency for the PLO terrorist organization.

Then we had Edward said, formerly of Columbia University using his carefully constructed image as an oppressed, poor Palestinian who was driven from his country, in order to bash Israel in high academic and political circles. In fact, Said was raised in very privileged Egyptian and American homes!

Obama served as a paid director on the board of the Woods Fund—a Chicago-based non-profit organization—along with the unrepentant ex-terrorist William Ayers. His Weather Underground terrorist group intended to overthrow the US government and took responsibility for bombings at NYC Police headquarters in 1970, the US Capital building in 1971, and the Pentagon in 1972. He said, “I don’t regret setting bombs. I feel we didn’t do enough.” [September 11, 2001]

Obama’s friends included the racist and anti-Semitic leader of the nation of Islam, Louis Farrakhan and, of course the infamous Jeremiah Wright, Obama’s pastor and mentor for 20 years at his church.

“No, no, no. Not G-d bless America. G-d damn America. That’s in the Bible. For killing innocent people. G-d damn America for treating citizens as less than human.”[Pastor Jeremiah Wright, 2003 sermon at Trinity United Church of Christ] Was Obama deaf?

The Obama years were noted for the unyielding pressure on Israel to freeze Jewish building of homes in, and eventually to surrender Judea and Samaria, its historic heartland, and parts of Jerusalem, its capital city; all land Israel had recaptured in a defensive war, the Six Day War of 1967.

Michael B.Oren, Former Ambassador of Israel to The United States authored “ALLY” on the American-Israeli divide. The comments which follow are from the given book.

Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s Prime minster was scheduled to address Congress on March 3, 2015. What followed is an account of that moment in time. After sealing the invitation with Ambassador Dermer, the Speaker refrained from informing the president. “There’s no secret about the animosity that this White House has for Prime Minister Netanyahu.”

Boehner stressed the need to hear Netanyahu’s views on “the grave of the grave threats radical Islam and Iran and Iran pose to our security and way of life.” The speech galvanized world attention. In place of the absentee Democrats were Republican philanthropist Sheldon Adelson, New England Patriots owner Robert. Kraft, and, most movingly, Elie Wiesel, who felt compelled to speak out against yet another possible genocide.

Trying Churchill’s record for the most joint meeting appearances, Netanyahu reveled in Churchillian locutions. “This deal doesn’t block Iran’s path to the bomb, it paves Iran’s path to the bomb. This deal won’t be a farewell to arms. It would be a farewell to arms control.

The alternative to this bad deal is a much better deal.” Further, he said, anyone who moves to establish a “Palestinian “state—gives territory away to radical Islamic Arab attacks against Israel. Netanyahu warned that “the right-wing government is in danger. Arab voters are going en masse to the polls. Left-wing NGOs are bringing them on busses.”

Michael Oren told CNN, “Israel’s government is elected not by Jews and Arabs, but by Israeli.” Yet Netanyahu won.
