General Zamir – Resign, now!

If you think that Israel is in better shape now than it was about three years ago before Bibi was elected you can stop reading right now. However, if you believe that the State of Israel is in danger of gradually losing large parts of its young population through yerida because of our present condition then please continue reading.

In a normal democratic society-including Israel before the Bibi government was elected, a Judicial Investigation Commission would have been appointed after 7 October 2023. And by this time there would have been new elections for the Knesset.

Neither has happened because Bibi has used democracy in the worst possible way to prevent both of the above!

For months many of us have been pondering the question of how can we accomplish both of the above. in a legal non-violent process in our democracy.

We have failed!

And today the government will probably decide to occupy Gaza with all that means-the loss of the lives of our hostages-that will be the mark of Cain for years to come-the loss of who knows how many soldiers amongst are young men and women-the occupation of Gaza and the responsibility of caring for two million civilians-and finally the continued loss of respect in the world especially in countries and peoples who until very recently were our best friends. If this happens we will gradually start to lose our young people who are army, who are workers in the Israeli hi-tech industry which keeps us alive economically and gradually there will not be a reservoir of human potential for which to keep our armed forces at the level it is today and gradually we will not have enough good students to keep our hi-tech industry alive. Instead of being the symbol of the potential of the Jewish People we will gradually go into the garbage pail of history with our leaders!

What to do?

I believe that General Zamir and the rest of our general staff SHOULD RESIGN TODAY! It is legal!

They all have to resign to force the government to make the necessary moves to maintain our armed forces. And it will stop what seems to be the coming national disaster.

Their condition for staying in their offices is exactly new elections and an investigative commission. These two objectives seem to be what a large majority of our people want right now.

Does anyone have a better idea to prevent national disaster?
