German Consul General Martina Hackelberg Honored at Hebraica São Paulo Luncheon
On Tuesday (7), Hebraica São Paulo and community leadership warmly honored the Consul General of Germany in São Paulo, Martina Hackelberg, on the occasion of the conclusion of her diplomatic mission in Brazil.
The luncheon brought together representatives of the Jewish community, institutional leaders, and guests in a moment marked by recognition, gratitude, and the celebration of a partnership built on dialogue, respect, and shared values.
CONIB was represented by its executive director, Sergio Napchan, and Fisesp by its president, Celia Parnes. Among those present were Rafael Erdreich, Consul General of Israel in São Paulo; Holocaust survivor George Legmann; and political leaders.
Also in attendance were Gaby Milevsky, CEO of Hebraica; Peter Kaufman, the club’s cultural director; Angela Gandra, São Paulo’s Secretary of International Relations; and diplomatic representatives from Spain, Sweden, Norway, Poland, Finland, Hungary, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Mexico, Moldova, Paraguay, the United States, the United Kingdom, the Dominican Republic, and Namibia.
Throughout her mission, Martina Hackelberg stood out for her commitment to strengthening relations between Germany and the Brazilian Jewish community, encouraging cooperation initiatives, promoting intercultural dialogue, and reaffirming the importance of preserving historical memory, combating antisemitism, and defending democracy and human rights.
