Go Ahead, Jump Off the Bridge

Everyone around us keeps saying jump! But we don’t give in to peer pressure. Peer pressure is what got us into this mess.

Maybe that works for you because it did in school, college, and the workplace to go along with the mob mentality.

I learned early on that standing up for what you believe matters, even if everyone around you says you might be wrong.

But evidently, most of the world did not learn this little part of growing up.

I taught my kids, pretty much from an early age, to not be sheep and not get herded by the herd mentality. Lead, trust in yourself, and your friends will appreciate you more.

At the time, I had no idea we would move to Israel, but it was a good thing I did because Israel is not for sheep; it is for leaders. We have to do the things no one else wants to do or say, and we don’t care what the world thinks.

After Columbine and Sandy Hook, it became evident that if the death of teenagers and young children did not change the attitude about guns in America, nothing would, and worse, it would only lead to a harsher future. We are now seeing that future.

According to The Washington Post website “More than 357,000 students have experienced gun violence at school since Columbine.” 389 school(!) shootings since 1999. Last year, in 2022, 46, more than any year since 1999.

You can blame movies, video games, or whatever you want for the levels of indifference to what happened on October 7th, but that only explains college students who believe they will regenerate when they are killed. How else do you explain their lack of empathy?

You, adults, WTF? Some of you grew up with Vietnam, later on, 9/11, and the subsequent wars, and instead of following the hippies to open your minds and love the world and one another, you misinterpreted it all. You decided instead to be selfish and prefer ignorance and be woke, which is nice in theory but seems to mean “except Jews.”

Maybe you went to public school, private school, or homeschool, but did you learn anything from the classes or just the class wars in the halls or buses?

Then you went to college and wanted to be in a fraternity or club, sometimes for fun, to be cool, or for serious reasons.

Maybe you took a “liberal” view of the world, or a cynical one, or believed in some ideal. For some of you, it is the first time you met people from other cultures, races, and religions, and what they tell you seems reasonable and even normal to you. And you wonder why your parents never told you these things. Or, in some cases, it reiterated what your parents told you—leaving you to decide for yourself or have good/bad things instilled in you.

I was there too, but I saw through much of it as the BS of college life. Some of you did not get born with the BS meter. And it shows now. But don’t worry, we knew you were always antisemitic but hid it for your benefit until the time came. Like Hamas, your timing has not arrived.

Your inability to see what is in front of you is on you. You are, in theory, a thinking, living, breathing person, but you have only seen the front end of the argument, not the endgame. The endgame, of the herd mentality, is playing out across the world and they will come for you too. Eventually.

If you honestly believe the videos from the Hamas terrorist’s cameras are faked, or the worldwide reporters who reported live from Be’eri, Kfar Aza, Netiv Haasara, Ofakim, and other places lied on camera about what they saw or heard from people on the ground, you failed Adulting 101.

You likely also claim the Holocaust never happened.

I have been on X (Twitter) arguing with some conspiracy theorists, they have all kinds of BS to blame, but not one of them will admit that what happened was beyond humanity’s cruelty or that they should distance themselves from those who committed it.

And the US colleges are filled with teachers who, instead of being open to discourse, are swift to blame the Jews. Not a word about what Hamas did.

And you all join these ignorant, selfish, antisemites because you think it will make us jump off that bridge and join you in that death plummet?

No, we respectfully think you are out of your mind.

Why would anyone choose to back people who could commit such atrocities? Herd mentality, you are all sheep and sheep get slaughtered. It won’t be by Israel or Jews, but by the same people you are backing now.

The LBGTQ+ people that are marching for Gaza? Your death wish is even more bizarre to us. If you lived or visited there, you would be strung up and hanged, if lucky. And yet, your herd mentality prevents you from appreciating the very harsh reality.

All we hear on social media is you had it coming. Ah yes, that old line, from the Bible times, surprised the blood of children wine trope hasn’t come out yet.

What other BS do you claim?

You have occupied Gaza forever and caused this.

BS, Israel pulled out of Gaza in 2005, and in 2007 Hamas fought Fatah to gain control over the Gaza territory and gain power. Read about it here.

Gaza is a refugee camp with people living in tents.

BS, they are not living in tents. These “refugee camps” are cities. I already discussed this in this blog post with the UNRWA’s help.

Israel is an apartheid state.

BS, there is no segregation based on race, religion, or anything else within Israel. But if an Israeli goes to Gaza or the territories, there are signs saying it is dangerous to your life. Why? Because Gaza is an apartheid state where Jews are not welcome.

Israel walls Gaza off like a prison.

BS, like any other country in the world, Israel maintains borders with various countries and chooses how it wants to respect and secure those borders.

Egypt does the same thing, yet you never argue about them, only the Israel side.

Why? The Nakba BS.

Do you see Jews claiming “Nakba” against Germany? Poland? Russia? Spain? Syria? Iran? Iraq? Algeria? Tunisia? Yemen? Libya? Lebanon?

No, we took what we could on our backs, our Torah scrolls, and went wherever we could to start a new life.

People of Gaza? No, let’s bitch and moan for 56+ years until someone cares that we lost a battle to the Jews. NO one cares. None of the Arab countries will take any of you in. That is not Israel’s fault. You could have built the Las Vegas of the Middle East but chose poorly.
