God as the existential engineer

God as the existential engineer that animates the world around us and within us. The self-aware infinite intellect manifesting as a spark permeating the universe and the multiverse, constructing the fabric of our reality and engineering all the events in our reality and beyond it.

Not a new concept but it speaks to me.

God gives us free will, yet God knows exactly what our path is going to be like. Of every one of us in the infinite multiverse. God also knows our perspective as we see it without any bias tainting it. Only God can do that. How can we have free will and how can God know what’s our ultimate fate at the same time? How can destiny and free will co-exist? God is paradoxical, but God’s paradox is only because of our limited human perspective. The concept of paradox doesn’t matter to the self-aware infinity that is the Creator. To God, both destiny guiding our actions and free will exist. How do our doubles from other realities, if they exist, influence us? How does the multiverse orchestra manage to sound so perfect with all the paradoxes of life? It’s only a paradox to our limited human minds. Even a genius mind has limitations.

Reading God’s mind would likely make us humans go crazy with all the contradictions making perfect sense to the Creator. You’re destined to live a particular life and ending up in a particular position in your life no matter what you do, yet you have free will to steer your life in any direction you want. Illogical, paradoxical, contradictory? Yes, unless you’re God then it all makes perfect sense.

A girl runs away from attention, she wants to outrun her destiny. She doesn’t want to be a debutante. She thinks she’s outsmarted all the forces in the universe, only to end up on the scene, curtains go up, and she’s presented to the world as the debutante. All she can do is grin through gritted teeth and curse God in her mind. God laughs at the girl’s fate of hubris-turned-humiliation as the auditorium is filled with funky music.

One can’t escape one’s destiny, yet we’re given endless choices to do so. Not something our human minds can grasp. Hence, reading the mind of God by humans is unlikely to ever work, unless God would give us His perspective while we’d also keep our awareness. Can you imagine being a self-aware infinity and yourself at once?

We project our image of that self-aware infinity, claiming or wanting to believe that someone like a priest, even an extremely clever priest, can speak for God. Can he? Talk about hutzpah. ETs can have a dramatically different, incomprehensible to us, image of the Creator. Their image would be as valid as ours because self-aware infinity is, in effect, transcendental.

Same with martyrdom. A jihadi expecting to be welcomed by God and declared a martyr might find out the Lord has a dramatically different understanding of martyrdom. We ascribe human traits to God, not just human traits but traits stemming from our own backgrounds and beliefs, yet we have no guarantee the Creator’s mind mirrors our thinking. There’s a reason hubris is being just one step away from a fall.

Why does God allow evil? Try to see it from God’s perspective. He sees the whole universe, not just a tiny piece like us. What we see as evil can be needed in the grand scheme of things for the universe to adhere to God’s design. It’s only evil from an extremely limited human perspective – a tiny puzzle piece. Indeed, as many philosophers point out, how would you know evil if you only knew goodness and perfection? Wouldn’t that make our existence limited? We wouldn’t know the limitation because we wouldn’t have the concept of evil, that’s another thing.
