God-Given Talents
When God created man, the creation was different than all other animals. Only man was created in God’s image as creator and builder.
Those talents each human possesses can only come from God. Our unique gifts are witnessed nowhere else in creation.
There is no scientific explanation as to why some have the natural ability to write, others see mathematics or science come easily to them, some are natural healers, or any other gift we alone have.
God is not just the brilliant creator that brought forth the universe, created laws to govern it, and created life from no life. God is so much more.
Every talent known to man can be found in God. All our unique talents can first be found in God. That is what it means to be created in God’s image.
I was always meant to be a writer. Some things, like putting words to paper, always came easily to me. Just as it does with all who are meant to be writers. God was the first writer and I humbly share that with my Creator.
There are those naturally inclined to languages, something I have a weakness for. I am awed by those who can pick up languages as easily as I can place words to paper. God was the first linguist and shared that with some of his human creations.
There are those brilliant minds who are drawn to mathematics. It was God who put all the equations into the universe to be discovered by mathematicians.
People who are drawn towards science discover the wonder that the first scientist, God, released on the universe. God left his scientific signature on everything, which is Intelligent design.
For every talent there is, God was the first. It is God who shares creation with us, by giving us the gift of His image.
There are those who do not look at their own gifts as something precious. They are envious or jealous of others who possess gifts they do not have.
Why look at what others have? Be content with what you already possess. You have gifts that are every bit as important as what others have. God gave those gifts to you. For that, you should be humbled to be chosen to be you.
Others believe their gifts make them superior to others. They lord their intellect, athleticism, position, etc. over those around them.
Why? There gifts are no more important than anyone else’s. What good does that intellect, or position, or whatever it happens to be, when a perceived lesser is needed to fix a hole in their roofs or take care of leaking pipes. Those roofers and plumbers also have their gifts, and we should be thankful for them when their gifts are needed.
Whatever your gift is, be humble and thankful to God that you share a part of God. Do not look at others with jealousy or superiority. Be grateful for doing what God wants you to do.
There are those who do not know what their gifts are. It is easy to find out. Think about what comes easy to you. That is your gift. Whatever comes with great difficulty is someone else’s.
Learning weaknesses does not mean we should not attempt them. It means accepting our own weaknesses and being grateful to God that others possess those gifts.
Be humbled in whatever God means for you to do. And never believe that your gifts are any lesser than those who claim superiority.
Every gift is a precious part of God. Praise God for choosing you to be who you were meant to be.
For those who do not believe in God, explain why only man has those wonderful gifts. There is no scientific explanation for what we all possess. A small part of God.
