Goebbels and Der Stürmer would be proud – PA blames recent terrorism in Brussels on Israel.

In a manner reminiscent of Der Stürmer and Joseph Goebbels, Palestinian Authority (PA) Security Forces Spokesman Adnan Al-Damiri implied that Israel was behind the March 22, 2016 terrorist attacks in Brussels and then the official PA Daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, immediately followed up with an article making the same vile suggestion.

In a post on Facebook, Al-Damiri questioned whether the attacks by ISIS could be just “a coincidence” now that European support for “Palestine” and the boycott of Israeli products from Judea and Samaria is growing.

Thanks to Palestinian Media Watch (PMW), we know that on March 24, 2016, in reaction to the news that ISIS was responsible for the Brussel’s airport and subway bombings, Al-Damiri posted: “Question: How come Europe has turned into the scene of terror attacks and murder of innocent civilians after the majority of European parliaments have recognized the State of Palestine, and after the expansion of the European boycott of products made in Israeli settlements? Is it possible that the timing of the targeting [of Europe] by ISIS and its offshoots is innocent and a coincidence? And why specifically Europe now that the European popular and official support for Palestine is growing??? Help me understand and answer. Thank you!

That same day, as part of the PA’s typical one-two (anti-Semitic) punch, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, the official PA daily, added to Al-Damiri’s effort to sell the idea that Israel was behind the recent terrorist attacks in Europe that ISIS has proudly admitted to be its handiwork. Member of the Fatah Revolutionary Council (which controls the PA and is the party of PA dictator Mahmoud Abbas), Muwaffaq Matar, and a regular Al-Hayat columnist, doubled down on Al-Damiri’s supposed questions and wrote:

We do not want to throw accusations, but why did the crimes and terrorist massacres of ISIS in France and Brussels coincide with the European Union’s first attempt to free itself of the Israeli extortion and of the Jewish persecution in Europe complex, and [coincide with] European members of parliament’s support of the Palestinian right [to statehood]?

Setting aside that Muwaffaq Matar certainly does “want to throw [wildly irresponsible and ridiculous] accusations” Matar also specifically mentioned in his PA propaganda piece France’s role in pressuring Israel to reward the Palestinians with a 23rd Arab State (and 2nd “Palestinian” State) and the fact that Brussels and the EU have been heading the boycott and labeling of Israeli products made in Judea and Samaria. Muwaffaq Matar, a modern day Julius Striecher, writing for one of today’s best replacements for Der Stürmer added: “How can we not allow ourselves to consider this background as the motive of those affected (i.e., Israel) by the new Europe to strike at its heart (i.e., Brussels).

Matar followed up that probing piece of “journalism” with this doozey: “We are talking about the motives of the heads of the project [i.e., the “Zionist project”], who carried out a historic crime against a whole people in order to achieve authority to act as a proxy of the colonial states and powers – those people will not hesitate to use the latest tools of terror under their own labels (i.e., ISIS), and thus hit three birds with one terrorist bombing – the Palestinians, the Arabs, and Europe… ISIS does not have all these abilities to attack whenever or however it wants, and there are those who have penetrated ISIS to the core because ISIS is their modern means to take revenge on Europe and rip out its heart.” See, http://www.palwatch.org/main.aspx?fi=1100&doc_id=17572

Such probing questions! Such important facts to ponder! Does make one wonder which “colonial states and powers” Israel is supposedly a proxy for. Perhaps the ones that currently side with the PA and against Israel according to Matar and Al-Damiri? Or perhaps the colonial powers that for 2000 years persecuted the Jewish people and murdered millions of Jews for having the temerity to maintain their ethnicity and religious beliefs? Or perhaps the colonial powers that colonized and Arabicized all of the Middle East and North Africa, and treated every non-Arab Muslim in their midst as second class Dhimmi?

In any event, it is certainly the case that these insightful (or rather inciting) statements by Manar and Al-Damiri would make your average conspiracy theory junky and raging anti-Semite’s head spin.

Unfortunately for Adan Al-Damiri, Muwaffaq Matar and their fascist anti-Semitic bosses within the PA, radical Islamist terrorism has not been limited, in any way shape or form, to Europe or to countries that have been only recently become friendly to the “Palestinian cause” or to the idea of boycotting Jewish goods from Judea and Samaria.

Lahore, Pakistan. Brussels, Belgium. Iskandariya, Iraq. Istanbul, Turkey. Grand Bassam, Ivory Coast and Maiduguri, Nigeria. These are all sites of radical Islamist terrorist attacks around the world in just the past month, which have killed nearly 200 people and wounded hundreds more. And with the exception of the attack in Grand Bassam, which was by an Al Qaeda affiliate, all of these attacks were by ISIS or by groups that pledged their allegiance to ISIS (such as Boko Haram).

In the Lahore attack, it was Jamaat-e-Ahrar, a splinter group of the Pakistani Taliban, which recently pledged allegiance to ISIS, who claimed responsibility for the attack, explaining that their goal was to kill Christians daring to celebrate Easter in Pakistan. Since Pakistan has never recognized Israel and has always been 100% opposed to Israel throughout the history of the Arab-Israeli conflict, Adan Al-Damiri, Muwaffaq Matar and their anti-Semitic cohorts in the PA would certainly have to come up with a different conspiracy theory as to why Israel, the only country in the Middle East with a growing Christian population, would be behind the ISIS attack in Lahore.

On March 19, 2016 an ISIS suicide bomber followed three Israelis for approximately three kilometers from their hotel in Istanbul before detonating his suicide bomb among a group of Israeli tourists. 3 Israelis were killed in that attack and 11 other Israelis were wounded, in an attack that killed 5 people and wounded 36 in total. But since Muwaffaq Matar and Al-Hayat Al-Jadida apparently know that ISIS does not “have all these abilities to attack whenever or however it wants” according to them there must be another party responsible for blowing up these Israelis in the heart of Istanbul.

Adan Al-Damiri, Muwaffaq Matar, and their fellow anti-Semitic scapegoaters in the PA, also seem to hope that everyone reading their nonsense has no memory of the long history of Arab and radical Islamist terrorism in Europe, which began way before the “majority of European parliaments have recognized the State of Palestine, and after the expansion of the European boycott of products made in [Judea and Samaria].

Of course, Al-Damiri and Matar can’t be expected to remember such ancient history. After all, it was almost 2 whole years ago (May 24, 2014) when there was an attack on the Jewish Museum in Brussels by a former ISIS fighter in Syria that killed 4 people, including two Israelis visiting the museum from Tel-Aviv. Or perhaps, Al-Damiri’s and Matar’s theory is that Israel was behind that attack too?

Another likely secret Israeli operation according to the anti-Semitic propagandists working for the PA must have occurred on March 19, 2012 in Toulouse, France. On that sad day, Mohammed Merah, drove up to the Ozar Hatorah Jewish day school on a motorcycle. He dismounted, and immediately opened fire at a schoolyard full of little kids. Four people died in that attack: Rabbi Jonathan Sandler; his two oldest children Aryeh (age 6), Gabriel (age 3); and 8 year old Miriam Monsonego, a little girl that Merah shot in the head.

On March 11, 2004, an attack, which was similar (in style though not scope) to the March 22, 2016 attack in Brussels, was perpetrated by the Abu Hafs al-Masri Brigade of Al Qaeda. 191 people were murdered and 2050 people were killed after 10 separate bombs were detonated along various train lines in Madrid. The suspects were radical Islamists from Morocco, Pakistan, Syria and Spain. In their claim of responsibility, the Abu Hafs al-Masri Brigade said that Spain was targeted because of its cooperation with the US in the war in Iraq. In a news flash, Adan Al-Damiri, Muwaffaq Matar and the rest of the corrupt kleptocracts at the PA, blame Israel.

So even though Adan Al-Damiri’s and Muwaffaq Matar’s scapegoating attempt seems remarkably stupid and perfidious in light of all of the terrorism throughout the world and specifically in Europe that doesn’t fit their crazy theory – but does fit the more plausible explanation that when radical Islamist terrorists say they plan to kill you, believe them – at least no self-identifying Palestinian organizations themselves have been behind any terrorist attacks in Europe … Except for of course, they have. Repeatedly:

  • In 1972, the PLO (with the help of current PA President for Life Mahmoud Abbas) took the entire Israeli Olympic team hostage at the Munich Olympics. These PLO terrorists ultimately murdered all 11 of the Israeli Olympians.
  • In 1974, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) detonated a bomb at the Drugstore Saint Germain, part of the fashionable circuit of restaurants and bars on Paris’s Left Bank, killing two and injuring 34.
  • In 1978, three PFLP terrorist opened fire on El Al passengers at the departure lounge at Charles de Gaulle Airport killing one policeman and injuring three French tourists.
  • In 1982, two terrorists from the Abu Nidal Organization (part of Mahmoud Abbas’s “moderate” Fatah party) threw grenades into the dining room of the Chez Jo Goldenberg restaurant and fired machine guns into the restaurant. Six people died that day, including two American tourists, and 22 others were wounded in this Fatah attack on a Jewish restaurant in Paris.
  • And it is not as if Al Qaeda was the first radical Islamist terrorist group to come up with the idea of detonating bombs in Spain in the name of their grotesque cause. On April 12, 1985, there was a bomb attack perpetrated by the Islamic Jihad terror group against the El Descanso restaurant just outside Madrid, Spain. That explosion killed 18 Spaniards and injured 82 others, including 11 American soldiers in the restaurant.
  • Not to be outdone by Islamic Jihad, the Abu Nidal arm of Fatah on December 27, 1985 had four terrorists walk up to the shared ticket counter for Israel’s El Al Airlines and TWA at Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport just outside of Rome, and fired assault rifles and threw grenades at people waiting to check in. These Fatah terrorists killed 16 and wounded 99 before three of them were killed, and the fourth, Mohammed Sharam, was wounded and captured by the Italian police.

     ***********************************

Of course, this history of Palestinian terror organizations and other radical Islamist terror organizations attacks in Europe and around the world does not in any way matter to the PA and its propagandists. The truth is irrelevant to the PA, just as it was irrelevant to their ideological brothers in the Nazi Party and their fellow propagandists and fake journalists at Der Stürmer. What matters to them is inciting more irrational and dangerous hatred against Israel (and Jews in general).

Feeding into the evil and dangerous narrative of “evil Jews,” who are somehow mysteriously behind terrorist attacks perpetrated by ISIS terrorists  – who often committing their heinous acts on camera with both video and photographic evidence establishing their identities – is the goal of the PA propagandist. Inciting further irrational hatred of Israel and against Jews is the goal of the PA. And it works; the overwhelming majority of Arabs living under the PA believe that Israel carried out the Charlie Hebdo and HyperCacher kosher supermarket terrorist attacks last year in Paris. In a poll conducted last February, 84% of Arabs living under the PA believe that the Charlie Hebdo and HyperCacher attacks were “suspicious, and that Israel may be behind it.” Only 9% acknowledged that these attacks were the work of Islamist terrorists.

These conspiracy theories and corresponding anti-Semitic propaganda promoted by the PA has implications beyond the population living under their control. Just last week, Ben Campbell, a British activist for the Labour Party claimed that “ISIS is run by Israel,” and in the aftermath of the Charlie Hebdo and HyperCacher attacks in Paris, there were numerous news reports of French Algerian Arabs that believed that magical shape-shifting Jews who were “master-manipulators and could be everywhere at the same time” were behind the January 2015 attacks in Paris. See, http://metro.co.uk/2015/01/15/some-people-are-blaming-magical-shape-shifting-jews-for-the-paris-attacks-5023438/#ixzz44bBwhQS0

While one can shrug off all of this propaganda by the PA and its impact – as just more evidence of how people can both say and believe the craziest things – there is a much broader and important issue raised by this latest in evil, anti-Semitic incitement by PA employees and propagandists at Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, and that is the impact this hate and these crazy conspiracy theories have on the prospect of peace.

It is well documented how dangerous the propaganda promoted by the Nazis and their media arms, including Der Stürmer, were for the Jewish people and ultimately the world. It is also well documented how much vile and spurious anti-Semitic incitement is promoted on an almost daily basis by the PA and Hamas. One of the major differences are that back in the 1930’s the rest of the free world was not paying the Nazis to help them to promote their vile hate and indoctrinate their people; while today the EU and USA continue to fund the PA (and indirectly Hamas) with their no strings attached aid.

The continued question raised by all of this incitement and terrorism is when are the governments in Europe and America going to wake up? The people running the Palestinian Authority practically invented the terrorism we see all over the world today. Plane hijackings, suicide vests, attacks on innocents at airports, restaurants, and in public transportation, those all were started by the PA’s predecessors who were trying to terrorize Jews in Israel and then in Europe.

As we know from our history, those who start by attacking Jews rarely end up only attacking Jews. So if Europe and the USA want to stop Islamist terrorism in their backyard, then they need to stop treating terrorism against Israel as if it is different and somehow less inexcusable, insidious and evil than terrorism anywhere else. And most of all, they need to stop sending billions of unconditional aid dollars to the PA. The PA should be told that all aid money will end if it continues to spread vile propaganda, anti-Semitic hate and incitement. Such moral action will further the cause of peace and the global fight against terrorism far faster than any additional meetings at the UN or attempts by John Kerry or Joe Biden to “reignite” the “peace process.”
