Hamas Delenda Est
Cato the Elder made the habit of ending every one of his orations in the Roman Senate with “Cartago delenda est.” He meant to say that before finishing his speech and sitting down, no matter the topic at hand, he’d remind one and all that, by the way, “Carthage must be destroyed.”
The Romans were acquainted with the beheading of babies, the slaughter of elderly, the rape of young women in the street—of conquered cities, by frenzied soldiers who had been forced to the extreme of their restraint and beyond and finally set loose upon a defeated and doomed population after long months of siege. To resurrect the most hard-bitten of ancient senators, or even blood-stained legionaries accustomed to the most vicious horrors of a lifetime of hand-to-hand lethal combat with edged weapons—and allow them to witness the animalistic savagery of Hamas’ recent bloodbath, unleashed during peacetime, out of the blue, upon civilians minding their own business—would be shocking in the extreme, even to them.
People just don’t act like that—not now, not in the past—and it’s Israel’s and IDF’s duty to make sure to add “not in the future either.” It is the height of absurdity, and truly a nauseatingly insane proposal, coming from the mouths of lowlife entities in the US, Europe and elsewhere, inhabiting the gutters of far-leftist anti-Semitism, that another magical “cease fire” should be the order of the day after monsters from Hell were permitted to slip from the underworld, across the border into Israel bringing a small slice of Gehenna to fruition upon the face of the Earth.
There have already been seventy-five years of nonsensical and useless cease fires, many decades of the Israeli people being sucker-punched, sneak attacked, dry-gulched, and back-stabbed from Gaza. There is no one on Earth—other than hiveminded, faux-progressive extremists who’ll parrot anything their handlers script for them—now laboring under the delusion that Israel has any options available to her other than to scour and remove the implacable and bloodthirsty enemy in her midst.
The silver lining in this sickeningly macabre business is that Jewish American voters, trundling braindead to the polls since forever to cast their ballots for the party of Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, Linda Sarsour, Al Sharpton, Keith Ellison—and doing so to the massive tune of 75%—now must face up to the disturbing, shocking, and embarrassingly self-excoriating reality that they’ve been in bed for decades with the very people who want them not just dead—but raped, tortured and humiliated beforehand as well.
The Japanese soldiers who made the sports section of newspapers in Tokyo during World War II by holding beheading contests in Nanking certainly weren’t hiding their utter and inhuman disdain for Chinese civilians, and didn’t enjoy the “cease fire” when it came. The victorious Americans dragged the miscreants to the gallows and attended to them there. The mask is now off with Hamas as well, for the entire world to plainly see, even if every decent human being is disgusted by the sight.
Carthage was rebuilt, as Gaza will be. But Carthage was never the same, and Gaza can’t be allowed to stumble and fester forward into a history it will not have under demonic leadership that has ruined its fortunes over the last three quarters of a century.
Enough is enough—and one doesn’t have to be an illustrious Roman senator to realize that.
