Has the World Gone Completely Crazy?

The world has gone crazy. It is incomprehensible that the global community has turned its back to the Jewish state, the only democracy in the Middle East, the country that contributed so much to the world, and the country that celebrates life, even the life of her enemies.

Did the world lose its mind, or is there something true of what certain people believe, that we enter the end of times?

The Betrayal From Washington
Donald Trump, the President of the USA and supposedly the biggest ally from Israel, has let Israel down after the hostages returned. He installed a totally anti-Israel Board of Peace for Gaza, allowing Israel’s most severe enemies to approach Israel’s borders while he is safe and sound in Washington.

Regarding Iran, the USA ridiculed Israel, even calling Israel’s PM a lunatic during heated diplomatic clashes over regional strategy. This is absolutely insane.

Immediately following the October 7, 2023 attacks, there were leaders who stood up. US President Joe Biden was the most prominent leader to issue an unequivocal, direct condemnation of Hamas while explicitly warning Hezbollah, along with Iran, against taking advantage of the situation, calling the attacks “sheer evil” and delivering a blunt, one-word warning: “Don’t.”

French President Emmanuel Macron also fiercely condemned the attacks on October 7th and explicitly warned Hezbollah against opening a secondary front in Lebanon during his subsequent diplomatic tour of the region.

The Great Western About-Face
Soon after, President Macron switched his opinion. Macron has become one of the most outspoken Western critics of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government and Israel’s military execution of the wars in Gaza and Lebanon. His public statements shifted from full solidarity to increasingly blunt, severe diplomatic rebukes:

-Demanding an International Arms Embargo: Macron called for a complete halt on delivering weapons to Israel for use in Gaza, framing it as the only path to a political solution. This drew an immediate, furious response from Netanyahu, who released a video stating, “Shame on them.”

-Condemning a Permanent War: Macron escalated his rhetoric, imploring Netanyahu in a public letter to “end the desperate race of a murderous and illegal permanent war in Gaza, causing indignity for your country and placing your people in a deadlock.”

-Push for Palestinian Statehood: Macron formally pledged France’s intention to recognize a Palestinian state at the UN General Assembly, joining countries like the UK, Canada, and Australia in shifting policyHas the World Gone Completely Crazy.

-Clashes Over Antisemitism:** When Netanyahu claimed France’s push was “pouring fuel on the fire” of surging antisemitism, Macron fiercely rejected the accusation as “erroneous, abject, and unacceptable,” countering that Netanyahu’s policies were actually the framework “emboldening those who use them as a pretext for antisemitism.”

A Chorus of Hostility
Beyond France, global leaders have unleashed an unprecedented wave of hostility. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has been one of the most outspoken critics of Israel, calling it a “terrorist state,” accusing it of committing genocide, and comparing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Adolf Hitler, stating there was “no difference” between them. Erdoğan has repeatedly defended or legitimized Hamas, refusing to classify it as a terrorist organization and describing it instead as a liberation or resistance movement. From an Israeli perspective, these statements are deeply offensive because they invoke Holocaust imagery against the Jewish state.

In Europe, the sentiment is equally hostile. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez described Gaza as being in a “catastrophic situation of genocide,” accused Israel of “exterminating a defenseless people,” and imposed an arms embargo.

In Ireland, Leo Varadkar stated the European Union had “lost credibility” because it failed to take a stronger position against Israel, while Micheál Martin’s government has repeatedly criticized Israel and supported sanctions against Israeli ministers.

Under Kaja Kallas, the European Union reviewed aspects of its relationship with Israel over human-rights obligations.

Even Vladimir Putin has joined the assault. Putin repeatedly criticized Israel’s military campaign, comparing the Gaza blockade to the Nazi Siege of Leningrad, a historical equation that Israelis view as inaccurate and inflammatory. Russia has accused Israel of carrying out collective punishment, blamed US policy for regional instability while overlooking Hamas’s October 7 attack, and frequently portrayed Israel as the primary military actor responsible for civilian casualties at the United Nations.

Have We Forgotten?
Does not one president remember why Israel existed? Does not one president remember all terror attacks on western soil committed by radical Islam? Are they forgotten, the IS era?

Believe me, IS is not gone. It is disguised in other terror groups: Hamas, Al Qaeda, Boko Haram, and the rest. By turning their backs on Israel, these global leaders are choosing blind appeasement over the defense of civilization itself.

About the Author
CEO of Time to Stand Up for Israel, a nonprofit organization with a powerful mission: to support Israel and amplify its voice around the world. With over 200,000 followers across various social media platforms, our community is united by a shared love for Israel and a deep commitment to her future. My journey as an advocate for Israel began early. When I was 11 years old, my father was deployed to the Middle East through his work with UNTSO. I had the unique experience of living in both Syria and Israel, and from a young age, I witnessed firsthand the contrast in cultures and realities. That experience shaped me profoundly. Returning to the Netherlands, I quickly became aware of the growing wave of anti-Israel sentiment — and I knew I had to speak out. Ever since, I’ve been a fierce and unapologetic supporter of Israel. I’m not religious, but my belief is clear and unwavering: Israel has the right to exist, and Israel has the duty to defend herself. My passion is rooted in truth, love, and justice. I’m a true Zionist at heart. From my first breath to my last, I will stand up for Israel.
