More than 700 people attend gathering in support of wounded soldiers’ rehabilitation, featuring actors from Fauda and representatives of the Jewish community.

The month of October was marked by emotion, reflection, and solidarity during a fundraising event in support of Beit Halochem, an organization dedicated to the physical, emotional, and social rehabilitation of wounded veterans of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Held at Clube Hebraica in São Paulo, the event brought together more than 700 participants, including community leaders, supporters, family members, and special guests.

Among the highlights of the evening were actors from the acclaimed Israeli television series Fauda and veterans who shared powerful stories of resilience in the face of the physical and emotional consequences of war. The event also sought to raise awareness about the importance of ongoing support for soldiers returning from conflict with lasting injuries and trauma.

During his address, Gaby Milevsky, CEO of Hebraica, emphasized the collective responsibility to support those who have dedicated their lives to the defense of Israel.

Israel’s soldiers are heroes. They take care of us, and we must take care of them, he said, underscoring the organization’s mission.

According to Milevsky, Beit Halochem has become a global leader in rehabilitation, providing specialized care to thousands of veterans and their families.

The executive explained that the organization brings together more than 70,000 members and serves approximately 26,000 veterans through its rehabilitation centers. In addition to treating physical injuries, the institution is deeply engaged in supporting individuals coping with psychological trauma, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), a challenge that has become increasingly prevalent in Israel.

Milevsky also drew a connection between the fiction portrayed in Fauda and the realities faced daily by Israeli soldiers. According to him, events that appear to belong solely on screen often reflect real-life experiences endured by military personnel and their families.

The presence of members of the series’ cast reinforced the evening’s message of awareness and solidarity. Guests highlighted how the real-life stories of soldiers and veterans have inspired productions that portray the complex security realities facing Israel.

Concluding his remarks, Milevsky stressed that the gathering represented not only a celebration of community unity, but also a concrete commitment to those who have sacrificed their health and well-being in defense of the country.

Funds raised during the event were directed to Beit Halochem’s programs, helping to support medical treatment, rehabilitation activities, psychological care, and initiatives aimed at the social reintegration of the veterans served by the organization.
