Hitler committed suicide April 30, 1945: 75 years later his propaganda lives on

Hitler’s suicide, whether by gun or cyanide, marked what the world imagined was an end to the incomprehensible evil he perpetuated with horrific strategies, details, and logistics. His industrialized killing machines and devoted accomplices wiped out 6 million Jewish men, women, and children. The world may have breathed a sigh of relief thinking, “It’s over.” But today, it is far from over. The Hitler/Goebbels strategy which powered their propaganda machine is still grinding out slander and lies with more henchmen-and henchwomen. These modern-day minions are not marching in lockstep like Nazi troops in Nuremberg Stadium, but marching they are. Marching across media, lone gunmen attacking synagogues in the USA and other nations, terrorists inside and outside Israel, Iran and its surrogates, and Boycott, Divest, and Sanction (BDS) movement. The worldwide leftist media is replicating the evil genius of Joseph Goebbels, unashamedly titled “Nazi Reich Minister of Propaganda.” His nickname, “Poison Dwarf” is fitting.

The Poison Dwarf mimicked Hitler’s 1925 book Mein Kampf. The 5’5” Nazi built Germany’s propaganda machine into an eventual takeover of Germany’s newspapers, radio, magazines and films, along with media takeover of conquered countries.

Mein Kampf-still a bestseller-outlined the “big lie.” Hitler described his propaganda technique as so “colossal” that no one would believe that this kind of “impudence to distort the truth so infamously” would even be attempted. We hear these “colossal” lies about Israel today parroted by the United Nations (United in disparaging Israel), some in US Congress like “US Representatives of Propaganda” Tlaib and Omar, the leftist US media with its hate-filled slander against President Trump, BDS members who choose not to notice how their mindless efforts hurt Palestinians and Arab and Palestinian leaders who accuse Israel of creating Covid-19.

When you read some of Goebbels’ quotes think about the current propaganda against Israel, Jewish communities worldwide, and President Trump, who has joined President Truman as a brave policy maker on behalf of Israel, the Jewish homeland.

  • If you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it, and you will even come to believe it yourself.
  • The most brilliant propagandist technique will yield no success unless one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly – it must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over.
  • Jews are our ruination. From Goebbels’ speech, “The Creators of the World’s Misfortunes.”

Today the terror triplets-Hamas, Hezbollah, and Syrian President Assad supplied by Iran’s theocratic imams, idolize their goal of “death to the Jews.” Seventy-Five years later, the Hitler/Goebbels evil DNA is alive and effective.

One part of the strategy explains how the hatred is perpetuated. It is gradual. “If you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it, and you will even come to believe it yourself.” In Nazi Germany many in the leadership were cultured, attended elegant parties, classical music concerts and the like. They “came to believe it themselves.”

Many anti-Semites today seem clothed in normality. But the hatred lurks underneath. The leftist media remains vociferous in tolerating antisemitism by omitting context and by slandering President Trump, an intensely pro-Israel President.

The modern propaganda down-line includes too many lies to list but here are a few: Israel is occupying Gaza. Israel will not help the Palestinians in the covid-19 crisis. Israel is not the Jewish homeland. The Western Wall is not Jewish. You must be Jewish to hold office in Israel. Jerusalem is not the capital of Israel. Israel is an apartheid state. UN says, “Israel is Worst Human Rights Violator.” Israel has killed hundreds of children in Gaza.

What are we to do? First, I am encouraged to know that in today’s world, millions of Christians are actively standing by the Jewish people and Israel. God has given us another chance as non-Jews-since WW II-to make a pronounced and massive stand against antisemitism. Pew Research in 2013 indicates that 80% of us believe that Israel is the biblical Jewish homeland. Along with that, most Christians do not understand why possibly 40% of the US Jewish population does not overwhelmingly agree. And while Israelis deeply appreciate President Trump, we are troubled that more American Jews do not know or seem to appreciate even the policies that President Trump is enacting on US campuses to protect Jewish students who are suffering antisemitism. With that being said, Christian commitment to the Jewish community and Israel remains no matter what.

Watch the “propaganda temperature” closely. Read reliable information. Apathy cannot be tolerated. We must choose vigilance in what we read and hear. Speak out in a factually and reasoned voice against the lies. We must continue to be proactive with US Congress on behalf of Israel and donating to trusted Christian and Jewish organizations who strengthen Israel. Travel to Israel when it opens up. And consistently pray.

Seventy-Five years later, propaganda thrives. It requires all of us, to become “brilliant propagandists” for the truth!
