Holocaust revisionists won 2020 elections in Lithuania
Holocaust revisionist political party Homeland Union (Lithuanian Christian Democrats) won the October 2020 elections to the Parliament of Lithuania.
The name of its leader is Gabrielius Landsbergis.
Has he graduated from a respected university? No. Has he ever had a real job outside of family business? No.
The only thing he has accomplished in his entire life is to be born a great-grandson of Nazi leader Vytautas Landsbergis-Žemkalnis.
Vytautas Landsbergis-Žemkalnis was a Minister of Infrastructure at the Lithuanian Nazi Government of 1941. On 30 June 1941, this Government issued the Order No. 6 providing that a prison called “Jewish Concentration Camp” should be established under the Ministry of Infrastructure.
At no point, Gabrielius Landsbergis apologized for the crimes committed by his great-grandfather. On the contrary, he is very proud of this Nazi past, because, according to the contemporary Lithuanian propaganda, all Jews were either communists, or businessmen united against poor Lithuanian workers.
Order No. 5 of this Government contains a note that Minister Landsbergis held an opinion that it was necessary to organize massacres of Jews, but he proposed not to murder them in city centers, because it could damage the reputation of the Nazi Government.
The Nazi Government explains in the Order No. 5 that Jews had to be murdered for 2 reasons: (1) they were communists, (2) they were harming the German and Lithuanian army. They actually use the word “harming” (“kenkimas”).
According to Minister Landsbergis, massacres of Jews in the Jewish Concentration Camp were better than public massacres in a city center.
On 30 June 1941, the Lithuanian Nazi Government (including Minister Landsbergis) nationalizes Jewish property. Gabrielius Landsbergis fails to explain how Jews could be communists and businessmen with so much wealth at the same time.
On 23 June 1941, the Lithuanian Nazi Government (including Minister Landsbergis) voted for a declaration expressing a “sincere support” to the “Worldwide mission of Hitler”.
On 1 August 1941, the Lithuanian Nazi Government issued Provisions on the Status of Jews identifying Jews as an obstacle to a Free Lithuania. By the way, the second Lithuanian Neo-Nazi party is called “Freedom Party” (“Laisvės partija”). This document provided that if a Jew owned a radio, any writing equipment, a bicycle, a photo camera, or a piano, he or she had to be sent to a death camp (“forced labor camp”).
On 4 August 1941, Minister Landsbergis voted to appoint Nazi war criminal Jonas Noreika to the position of a governor of the Siauliai Region. This implies responsibility of Landsbergis for murdering over 14,000 Jews by Noreika.
Minister Landsbergis never voted against any Order of his Nazi Government.
Gabrielius Landsbergis never disagreed with his great-grandfather on those points, because the story of his great-grandfather is the main reason why Lithuanians vote for the Homeland Union.
It goes without saying that the Homeland Union admires Nazi Jonas Noreika. The memorial plaque that I had the honor to destroy in April last year had been hanged up by the Homeland Union mayor of Vilnius in 1997. This political party built lots of other monuments to Nazis in Lithuania. When I destroyed it with a sledgehammer, the Freedom party’s mayor Remigijus Simasius restored it.
The Lithuanian courts prohibited the book “Ship of Idiots” by Vytautas Petkevičius, because the writer called Minister Landsbergis a “friend of Hitler”. According to the corrupt judges, “friends” have to meet after work in order to discuss their private life. Minister Landsbergis had only business communication with Adolf Hitler. He never played with the dog of Hitler on weekends. The establishment of the Jewish Concentration Camp is a job, not private life or expression of friendship. On this ground, the book was prohibited.
This “Friend of Hitler” judgment is an evidence of how deep Nazism is rooted into the contemporary Lithuanian culture.
The European Union made a huge mistake when it accepted Lithuania as its Member State. Lithuania should rather be in a union with Alexander Lukashenko.
