Hoohas for the Hahas
“Hoohas for the Hahas”
I personally can not say that without laughing. Try it and see for yourself.
And while you are laughing, you might be wondering, what does Hoohas for the Hahas even mean?
Last week I left Israel to become “The Wife Of” the Israeli ambassador to Japan. In Japan, the word for Mother is Haha. And I am going to guess that you all know what a hooha is.
To further explain the title of this blog, and to tie it all together, I am the founder and CEO of Navon Naturals, a skincare company that focuses on women’s health and wellness. Lo and behold, the star product of Navon Naturals is called the Hooha Rejuvenating Serum. And yes, the name says it all. It is a product for peri/post-menopausal women to help with problems due to hormonal changes as we age.
As this is my passion, I often find myself discussing core health along with the various symptoms of menopause with random women. It is of no surprise to me that after being in Japan for a handful of days, I have already discussed the topic with a number of women. In a moment of pure serendipity, I realized that in Japan, I am talking to the hahas about their hoohas.
And I am happy to laugh at my own silliness, because leaving Israel was hard to do. I love my country. Israel is my home. I feel grounded and more at peace in Israel than anywhere else. And believe me, I understand how ironic this statement is. Who feels at peace in a country at war.
And yet, I don’t think that I am alone in this sentiment.
But for now, I am in Japan, and I look forward to having a wonderful time while I am here. As a woman going through menopause, Japan is an incredible place to be. Women are in key government positions, and the prime minister has placed women’s hormonal health as a central pillar of her platform.
Lucky for me I am a great multi-tasker. I am blessed to be able to serve my country while I am here, but I also hope to continue to grow as a naturopath. I look forward to studying the flora and fauna of Japan, and their traditional methods and herbs that were used to encourage optimal health during menopause
Hoohas for the Hahas, it’s a serious subject, but I still can’t say it without laughing. What about you?
