How can you help? Take action and be of service

We are all looking for our purpose in this world. Something we can do with passion and what would bring meaning to our lives. It is such a blessing nowadays to have access to all types of inspiration, motivation and paths we can take. It could also be overwhelming, because there may be competition or comparison. I am specifically talking about doing something of service, such as teaching others or helping others. This could be a profession or as a volunteer, but it could also be something that just happens when there is a call for help. It could also be trusting your intuition when a friend needs help, or when you see someone as you are walking by, and just take a moment to ask if they are okay. You always hear stories of heroes running into burning buildings or to save someone from drowning. Those are dangerous situations, and it is amazing that there was a rescue, but it could also be something small that nobody else sees and you are called to do something.

Everything that has crossed my path this past week, from Torah learning to inspirational videos, there has been one theme. Taking action, even if something does not work out, you are one step ahead. My husband and I, along with IDF commander, Rabbi and Therapist, Sharon Dekel, have started a non profit, to bring Israeli soldiers to communities all over the diaspora, for some rest and relaxation, as well as connecting to community for love, support and fun! It is a tax exempt 501 (C) (3), Shay Le Chayal in Hebrew, meaning A Gift For Our Soldiers. Our new initiative is bringing food and fun to the base with a BBQ for only $750. We all give charity and our time in different ways. I would love for you to spread the word, to give a gift to our soldiers, and give the opportunity for others to take action.
