How Do We Quell Our Inner Rebellions?

Torah Portion Korach (Numbers 16:1 to18:32)

In Memory of Our Dear Mother, Dr. Thérèse Shore (pen name, Dr. Lena- Allen Shore), who always said, “We must know when to accept and when to struggle.”

How do we quell our inner rebellions?

Envy, pride, our internal enemies.

How does one disarm oneself?

To recognize ultimate good for all.

To surrender the egocentric, to win

The future for generations to come.

In the example, we give our children,

For their sake, to work together.

To know when to accept, when to struggle

For what is just, ethical and compassionate.

The sum of all parts needs a moral compass

For life’s journeys, led by “chosen leaders”,

Accepted and supported, even in hardship,

When doubts arise without human answers,

Awaiting the outcome of faith to overcome

Fears and misgivings with complete belief.
