How do you accept the hardships of life?

If something bad happens to you,
either with your money,
your health
or anything else,

you must know this is only for your good.

HaShem (G-d) does only good!

Accept your situation with joy.
Realize He is only doing you good.

You should accept this judgment from HaShem with love.

Do not become angry about your situation.

Even though HaShem appears to be hiding his face from you at this moment,
you still want Him!

This is your opportunity to develop closeness to HaShem.

Do not become like the person
described in Isaiah 8: 21

“When there is famine he becomes angry.
He curses his King and he curses HaShem (G-d forbid).”

Think about why we praise Avraham Avinu (Abraham our father)
for the ten tests HaShem gave him.
Bereishis/Genesis.

What exactly are we praising?

Avraham accepted his tests willingly,
favorably, and with a good heart.

HaShem found Avraham Avinu faithful to Him.

On the other hand, the generation that left Egypt on the other hand
complained and became angry with HaShem.

Instead of accepting HaShem’s guidance, they rebelled against Him.

They allowed their suffering to turn into resentment.

Why did this happen?

Because they became angry at HaShem
and did not have a good heart toward
Moshe, His servant.

They rebelled against HaShem.

What does this show?

When you accept your difficulties with a good heart
you see blessings like Avraham Avinu.

But if you view your suffering with anger,
you will find rebuke.

You will not receive the forgiveness and atonement
that suffering brings.

Based on Chovos HaLelavos, Shaar Cheshbon HaNefesh
by Rabbi Moshe Dovid Cohen.

From Psalms 14: 6

“You shame the advice of the poor man.
Although HaShem is his refuge.”
