How do you dismantle a death cult?

Jim Jones. David Koresh. Yahya Sinwar and Mahmoud Abbas. What do these men have in common?

In their wildest dreams, I bet Jones and Koresh never thought they’d be able to enforce as rigid, ruthless, and enduring a cult structure as what has been accomplished in the Gaza Strip and West Bank (Judea and Samaria), with 5 million members and a worldwide promotion campaign that draws millions more to their apocalyptic cause. Jonestown and Waco were nothing compared to so much death. So much suicide. So much religious indoctrination. So much controlling, intimidating, brainwashing, manipulating, oppressing, abusing and lying.

When I compare an average small-potatoes cult and the Palestinian territories, I see a lot. The populace is kept isolated, hungry, and impoverished, dependent on dole-outs from an authoritative inner sanctum. That’s the mind-control, cult growth formula you need. Palestinian territories feature streets named after terrorist martyrs, honored like demon gods. Families are rewarded with money and status for sacrificing kin to the greater fanatical cause. Parades with candy are held every time Jewish or Israeli blood is spilled, and the littles are initiated at terror camp. Death, hate, and murder is stamped on their sacred charter, and the populace is fed false history in a climate that has eliminated most whispers of dissent or alternative opinions. Toe the party line or perish, that is cult gold.

If such festering pods of society were located anywhere else, they wouldn’t be tolerated. There would be no attempts to negotiate peace, or land, or independence. There certainly wouldn’t be financial support or marches in the streets worldwide.

But since everyone’s got to hate on Jews, these death cult bubbles have been allowed to grow and thrive, and every imagined and histrionic grievance against Israel has been validated beyond all reason.

For peace to reign in the Palestinian territories, wherever they end up being, somehow all 5 million residents need to be drawn into reality. Deprogrammed. There are not enough social workers, counselors, or psychologists to do that on earth, especially if the anti-Zionists continue their noisy, sadistic cheers of support and everyone lets them.

How will an average Palestinian reckon with what they’ve been led to believe, vs what is the actual, simple truth? The truth that it’s polite and civilized to share and be nice to neighbors, even if you don’t like them. The truth that Jews are just normal folks. The truth that they’ve been trapped in an alternate universe that denies basic affirmation of life and joy. The truth that they have sent their sons and daughters to die in service to absolutely nothing. If the world supports a functional Palestinian society, it is going to be a herculean task, and it’s time to get consensus and get to work, knowing this project is 50 years and 112 days behind.
