I am a proud member of a conspiracy… If only I knew what it is..
I am a proud member of a conspiracy…
Seriously, apparently I have been taking part in a worldwide conspiracy started by “Zionist Jews” and
“women Zionists” and is used in war and against “resistance groups,” the latter being a reference to Palestinians.
What is it that I am doing that is so sinister even “Zionist Women” are doing it? It is the Israeli Martial Art of Krav Maga. The J Post is reporting that:
Israel is now undertaking “mysterious activities” involved in spreading Krav Maga worldwide. The news site concludes that it cannot yet give an answer as to what is behind Israel’s plot to spread the martial art, but notes that the dangerous trend should be observed
Actually, Krav Maga was first developed by Imi Lichtenfeld in the 1930’s to fight against fascist thugs that were beating up Jewish civilians.
In the mid-1930s, anti-Semitic riots began to threaten the Jews of Bratislava. Lichtenfeld became the leader of a group of Jewish boxers and wrestlers who took to the streets to defend Jewish neighborhoods against the growing numbers of national socialist party and anti-Semitic thugs. Lichtenfeld quickly discovered, however, that actual fighting was very different from competition fighting, and although boxing and wrestling were good sports, they were not always practical for the aggressive and brutal nature of street combat. It was then that he started to re-evaluate his ideas about fighting and started developing the skills and techniques that would eventually become Krav Maga. Having become a thorn in the side of the equally anti-Semitic local authorities, Lichtenfeld left his home, family and friends in 1940 on the last refugee ship to escape Europe.
Thus, despite the Iranian claim that Krav Maga was developed to oppress the Palestinians, actually it was to help individual Jews defend themselves from the threats of those who would oppress. Since that time it has grown to simply be a way to help individuals regardless of religious beliefs, race or culture, defend themselves.
So how was I introduced to the “conspiracy”? Well, about four and a half years ago I decided that I wanted to get in shape and that I wanted to train martial arts. I chose Krav Maga because it was Israeli and I was going through a “going back to my roots” (Jewish – not Israeli because I am not Israeli) phase. I figured: “Hey this is our martial art.. so why not”. PLUS I wanted to lose 20 pounds. So, I went on line using the secret GOOGLE search engine, typed in Krav Maga in (my area) and lo and behold there were multiple choices available.
It was love at first punch for me with Krav Maga. There is no b.s. to Krav, (at least technique wise), it is just straight forward. Train. Fight. Survive. Learn how to defend yourself with maximum efficiency. It is simple, straightforward and effective (I know because I have had to use it).
Over the years I have been fortunate to participate in two schools / systems, because see… Krav Maga is NOT a unified discipline. There are a number of variations on the theme (so to speak), but within each of these variations I have learned from some amazing teachers. But not only that, I have gotten a chance to make some amazing new friends.
Now… never has there been a time when I have witnessed any discrimination against anyone else regardless of race, religion, or culture. I have trained with Jews, Christians, and Muslims, people that are Black, White, Asian, and Hispanic. My first teacher was Persian and not Jewish (the irony of this does not escape me). SHE was wonderful.
SO if there is a horrible Krav Maga Conspiracy, it must be to bring people together in the world united in protecting themselves and their loved ones.
Here is one thing I find very interesting about the drivel from Iran… They claim that Krav Maga “lacks compassion”.
“Jewish settlers in the occupied territories” are also given serious training in Krav Maga, it reported, adding that the martial art is designed to cause maximum damage and cripple an opponent, lacking “tolerance and compassion.”
Now coming from the Iranian Government that brutally executes it’s own citizens, hangs Gay people from cranes, oppresses Women, that they would actually be whining about “tolerance and compassion” boggles the mind. But that hypocrisy aside….
First of all, Krav Maga is a Fighting System. It is designed for maximum protection. I am not sure that when someone is in a fight for their life that stopping to show tolerance for an attackers P.O.V. is either realistic or wise.
Second of all, Krav Maga teaches avoidance and self control. The best way to come out of a fight is to never have to have one. In my situation, I had to restrain a 240 lb. 6’3″ guy who was mentally handicapped but who was on a destructive tear (he was breaking car mirrors with his bare hands). I was able to stop him using techniques I learned in Krav but no one, not him, nor I suffered any bodily harm.
If I didn’t know Krav, who knows what would have happened but because of training and situational awareness the situation was handled with a minimum of violence and it worked out for everyone in the end.
SO.. If I am part of a conspiracy that’s just great. I just wish I knew what that conspiracy was.
KIDAH!
