I Bow Before God. He Bows Before the Ultras.
No coalition as of the moment. Netanyahu is struggling to increase support. He seeks and will get it, very sadly, from the haredi ultra-Orthodox members whose cohorts hold the State of Israel in their blackmailing hands.
My cry is “Shema Yisrael Hashem Elohenu Hashem Echad”… Hear O Israel the Lord our God the Lord is One”. Netanyahu’s cry is “Give me all your votes and I’ll give you everything you ask for”.
I, like most Jews, bow only to our One God. Netanyahu bows to anyone who will give him their votes.
Among the 37 signers of our Declaration of Independence signed in Tel-Aviv on 14 May 1948 were several Orthodox Jews and a distinguished rabbi. None of them had any trouble or difficulty in the wording of the Hebrew language Declaration.
Now Mister Netanyahu (Mister sounds better for him than Prime Minister) is anxiously appealing to the haredi section to support his attempts at establishing an acceptable-to-him coalition.
The fact is that probably no haredi or otherwise Orthodox Jew has read the Declaration of Independence. If some had, they would oppose it due to paragraph 13 which assures freedom of religion for ALL. For ALL means for ALL non-Orthodox Jews, the majority composed of Conservative and Reform Jews both in Israel and mainly in the diaspora..
For non-Orthodox Jews in the State of Israel there is absolutely NO freedom of religion from birth to death. All Israeli Jews are subjects of the Chief Rabbinate and its haredi members which hang the others in a tight strangle-hold.
The true President and Prime Minister of Israel is God. He promised the land of Israel only to the Jews.
(The prophet Mohammed recognized it in his written Quran. Islam knows that Israel is for the Jewish people).
And since God is our Heavenly Ruler, He inspired the Austro-Hungarian Jew, Dr. Theodor Herzl, to transform His promise into international reality. The birth of political Zionism.
David Ben-Gurion and the signatories of the May 1948 Declaration gave legal birth to Herzl’s dream.
That declaration, specifically the 13th paragraph, gives all freedoms and full equality to every citizen of the State of Israel. An official Arabic language made into law in 1918 cannot be revoked from the disgraceful 2018 Netanyahu- supported law, Chok HaLeumi, the Nation-State Law. Arabic, Hebrew and English have since 1918 been the three official languages of Palestine/Israel. This portion of the new law deprives Arabic-speaking citizens of full equality in Israel.
But in order to please the haredi “regime” of religious tyrants, several who served time in prison for theft, bribery, fraud, embezzlement and other crimes which religious Jews should never do, Mister Netanyahu will bend over backwards to appease them in exchange for their support in a new coalition.
If former defense minister, Avigdor Lieberman, will stand up for his principles, the haredi “menuvalim” will not get 100% of their demands. He has vowed not to join a coalition with the haredim until and unless they agree to the law requiring ultra-Orthodox young men to do national military service. The draft law does not excuse anyone on the grounds of religious practice.
Lieberman is therefore a vital and welcome thorn in Netanyahu’s hoped-for ultra-Orthodox support.
If that section which takes its oath upon the laws of our holy Torah will agree to take an oath based upon our Declaration of Independence, a coalition into the Knesset may be very near.
First, all ultra-Orthodox hopefuls for a seat in the 120 member Knesset must read the Declaration.
Finally, they must agree to enlistment of young men into our military forces, to provide security for all our citizens exactly as our non-Orthodox young men proudly do.
At this stage of political blackmail, Mister Netanyahu may have to appeal to President Reuven Rivlin for a two week extension of his appointment as Prime Minister. Hopefully there will not be a call for new elections.
And if and when Netanyahu fails, all hail to our national colors, Kachol v’Lavan.. the Blue & White party.
In the meanwhile, I will continue to bow before God while Netanyahu continues to bow before the ultras. God…. please save us !!!
