Ideals, Inversions, & Reality

In a recent interview by Israeli channel N13, Tucker Carlson sneeringly cosplayed a Christian preacher from his pulpit in Woodstock, Maine. He admonished the Israeli interviewer with “Thou Shalt not Kill” of the Hebrew Ten Commandments, to mock him.  Tucker was grinning ear to ear at the magnificent role he suddenly landed without more pushback.  Ironically, this parody played out just before Shavuot, the Jewish celebration of the reception of these Ten Commandments by Moses on Mount Sinai.

First, concrete reality cannot be wished away.  Israel is a tiny arid country devoid of oil, surrounded by an oil-wealthy Islamic Arab states hostile to its existence, despite a few conciliatory treaties. During World War II, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Hajj Amin Al-Husseini, toured Auschwitz and collaborated with Hitler, hoping to annihilate the half million Jewish population in the Holy Land. Israel nevertheless survived targeting by a 59-nation Islamic bloc, which has fed billions into the inverted lies undermining, excluding, and demonizing it via UN agencies.  These agencies have been dedicated to recognizing, financing, & miseducating the multiplying descendants of the half million refugees of a supposedly “ethnically cleansed” pre-1949 “indigenous Palestine” which had never existed. Yet the Islamic bloc, the UN and its agencies, and the EU – still operate as if this pretense had always been valid.  Despite this historical error, 160,000 Muslim Arabs never left the fledgling Israel in 1949, then composing 20% of the state’s population, and many have thrived, becoming pharmacists, doctors, lawyers, judges, and parliamentary members.

In contrast, most of the world had barred Jewish immigrants, including the US – before, during, and after, World War II.  In 1939, 66% of Americans had opposed a bill to rescue 20,000 Jewish children escaping Nazi Germany.  Subsequently, 1.5 million Jewish children were murdered during the Holocaust. Of 9.5 million European Jews in 1933, there remained only 3.5 million Survivors by 1945.  Half a million Survivors arrived in Israel (1933-1951).  The UN Relief and Rehab Administration (UNRRA) aided Survivors only until 1947, when it ran out of funds. Then the International Refugee Organization (IRO) provided aid to the remaining 343,000 survivors until 1952. Refugee aid had been brief for these Displaced Persons (DPs), as Jewish American organizations (JDC, HIAS, ORT, etc.) took charge, which included over 20,000 orphans who largely were taken into Israeli youth villages and kibbutzim.  Also in 1947, there had been a million Jews living in Arab countries, 850,000 of whom had fled rising persecution and massacres, to Israel.  None were ever recognized as refugees. Nor had they ever received compensation for the assets they were stripped of by the wealthy Arab world, where for example, Iraqi Jews had been established since the Babylonian Exile 2,560 years ago. Furthermore, a peaceful exchange of refugee populations which could have taken place following the birth of the State of Israel was simply torpedoed by European and UN submission to the whims of the large, oil-rich Islamic bloc.

Iran coordinated a “Ring of Fire” surrounding Israel with proxies Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, West Bank terrorists, plus three extra fronts from Syria, Iraq, & Turkey.  Israel responded to the Oct 7th massacre, atrocities, and hostage-taking by Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and Gazan civilians, knowing this was only one front of this multifront genocidal attempt organized, armed, & coordinated by Iran.  It was forced to chase after Hamas through 350 miles of tunnels with entryways and weapons stashes in hospitals, mosques, and most Gazan buildings. Israeli and international hostages of 35 countries, held by Hamas and Islamic Jihad, were hidden behind the civilian population in booby-trapped buildings, serving as human shields for the tunnel-dwelling terrorists.

The IDF responded with the only humanitarian option possible. It issued millions of flyers and calls for the civilians to move to non-combat zones, so it could explode the booby-trapped buildings, enter the booby-trapped tunnels, to reach the terrorists and rescue the hostages. Therefore, Hamas ensured not only the destruction of Gaza’s infrastructure, but endangered its own civilians and the Israeli and international hostages. Burrowing under the rubble for bodies or producing inflated mortality statistics, which dissipated the minute they were challenged by demographers, is fakery. The civilians were evacuated to designated safe zones supplied with shelter, water, food, & necessities by the US, Israel, GHF, UNWRA, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, & China.   Yet, Tucker’s angry accusation is that “Israel killed 20,000 Gazan children,” which “as an American,” he does not want to pay for.

Billions in propaganda invert the truth on its head. In the Qur’an, Mohammed’s tactic of ذر الرماد في العيون   (tharr al-ramad fil-‘uyoon, i.e., throwing sand in the eyes) of the كافر (kuffar) non-believers has encouraged lies to proliferate with impunity.  Fingering the target as guilty of what they themselves have done inverts reality.  Furthermore, the phrase  والله خير الماكرين  (Allahu khayru al-makireen) “Allah is the Greatest of Deceivers”(Surah Ali ‘Imran 3:54 and in Surah Al-Anfal 8:30) is quite popular.  A thousand and one illusions.

Furthermore, Tucker has denounced America’s war on the Iranian regime and endorsed leaving its nuclear weapons program intact. The Iranian Ayatollah’s government rules over a population of 92 million, living in a landmass bigger than the American East Coast from Maine to Florida. Since 1979, The regime has been threatening to destroy the “Great Satan,” America, & to wipe the “Little Satan,” Israel, “off the map.”  President Trump vowed to remove the Ayatollah’s threat to America since the 1979 Islamist takeover of the US Embassy, killing 8 Americans, and taking 66 hostages, most for over a year. Iran has killed over a thousand Americans in terror attacks since then.  This totalitarian regime is misogynic to half the population, genocidal to minorities, kleptocratic of the national oil wealth, and pays the IRGC, Hezbollah, Hamas, and Houthis terrorists, instead of providing services to tax-paying Iranians. It murders and rapes thousands of their own public that challenges its abuses.  All the while, this regime has consistently lied to America, the EU, the JCPOA, & the IAEA, while enriching uranium to weapons grade, developing ballistic missiles, internationally banned cluster missiles, and drones. Today, the US and Israel have reduced the Iranian threat greatly, but it is not over.  Who could object to ending the regime’s power?

Tucker’s “preaching” about what Civilization, Democracy, Christianity, & wars theoretically “should” look like does not match concrete reality anywhere, not even in his own milieu.  American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands do not vote in the US, nor do “Palestinian” West Bankers and Gazans vote in Israel. Democracies exclude non-citizens from their own Social Contract, because it includes obligations as well as rights.  Implementing Civilization, Christianity, & Democracy require distinguishing ideals, and lies, from reality.  Foisting high ideals upon others, while being blind to one’s own actual violations, smacks of grandiosity. Furthermore, peering from one’s plutocratic perch to shame a persecuted minority for acting in self-defense seems a tad churlish.  And one’s conscience requires practicing what one preaches.
