If God had so willed, he would have made you One Community
“They (some Jews) have set up their religious leaders and scholars as lords instead of God. Others (most Christians) deified the Messiah, son of Mary. They were all commanded to worship only one God. There is no God except He. Be He glorified, high above having any partners.” (Qur’an 9:31)
“Pagans indeed are those who say that GOD is the Messiah, son of Mary. The Messiah himself said,”O Children of Israel, you shall (only) worship God; my Lord and your Lord.” Anyone who sets up any idol beside God, God has forbidden Paradise for him, and his destiny is Hell. The wicked have no helpers.” (Quran 5:72)
“Yet, they (Pagans) set up beside God idols from among the jinns, though He (Allah) is the One who created them. They even attribute to Him sons and daughters, without any knowledge. Be He glorified. He is the Most High, far above their claim” (Qur’an 6:100)
“O Children of Adam! Indeed, We have bestowed upon you from on high [knowledge of modesty and] garments to cover your nakedness, and [clothing] as a thing of beauty; but the garment of God-consciousness [modesty] is the best of all. Herein lies a message from God, so that mankind might take it to heart. (Qur’an 7:26)
“If God had so willed, He would have made you one community, but He wanted to test you through that which He has given you. (Qur’an 5:48)
And “If your Lord had pleased, He would have made all people a single community, but they continue to have their differences. (Qur’an 11:118–19)
“The Jews and the Christians will never be pleased with you unless you follow their ways. Say, God’s guidance is the only true guidance.’ If you were to follow their desires after the knowledge that has come to you, you would find no one to protect you from God or help you. (Qur’an 2:120)
“It was We (Allah) who revealed the Torah (to Moses); therein was guidance and light. By its standard have the Jews been judged by the Prophet (Moses) who bowed to Allah’s will, by the Rabbis and the Doctors of Law: for to them was entrusted the protection of Allah’s Book, and they were witnesses thereto: therefore fear not men, but fear Me, and sell not My Signs for a miserable price.” (Qur’an 5:44)
“It is God who created the heavens and the earth and everything between them in six Days. Then (on the seventh day) He established Himself on the Throne. You [people] have no one but Him to protect you, and no one to intercede for you, so why do you not take heed?” (Quran 32:4)
“So remember Me; I will remember you. Be thankful to Me, and never ungrateful.” (Quran 1:6) And Psalm 145:18 “The Lord is near to all who call Him, to all who call Him with sincerity.”
“Those who disbelieved from among the Children of Israel were cursed by the tongue of (Prophet King) David and Isa, son of Mariam (Jesus); this was because they disobeyed and used to exceed the limit.” (Qur’an 5:78)
This is an example of Jesus opposing the expansion of the Jerusalem Temple’s purity laws: “So the Pharisees and scribes questioned Jesus: “Why do your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders? Instead, they eat with defiled (un-ritually washed) hands.” (Mark 7:5)
Prophet Jesus said to the Pharisees and scribes who had expanded the Torah’s Oral Laws: “Thus you nullify the word of God by your (own) tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that.” (Mark 7:13)
Prophet Jesus, who said: “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.” (Matthew 15:24); then unintentionally became a Jewish Prophet for the non-Jewish world. And Prophet Muhammad. the unlettered prophet, was the one intentional non-Jewish Abrahamic Prophet for the non-Jewish world.
“Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered prophet, whom they find written in what they have of the Torah and the Gospel, who enjoins upon them what is right and forbids them what is wrong, and makes lawful for them the good things and prohibits for them the evil (things), and relieves them of their burden and the shackles which were upon them. So they who have believed in him, honored him, supported him and followed the light which was sent down with him (even if they did not covert to Islam) – it is those who will be successful.” (Qur’an 7:157)
“Indeed, the believers, Jews, Christians, and Sabians—whoever truly believes in God and the Last Day and does good will have their reward with their Lord. And there will be no fear for them, nor will they grieve.” (Quran 2:62)
The Qur’an refers to Moses 137 times, and the Torah 18 times. The name “Bani Israel” Children of Israel is mentioned 40 times in the Quran, and some 50 times, like the Jewish Prophets themselves, the Qur’an is critical of some or sometimes most of the Children of Israel, for not living up to the standards of their covenant with God. (2:47-52 and 10:93)
There is a Quran verse 5:32 that in english translation Sahih International states: “Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land – it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one – it is as if he had saved mankind entirely.” which is similar to a Talmud verse written by rabbis who do not claim to be prophets. “Whoever destroys a soul, it is considered as if he destroyed an entire world. And whoever saves a life, it is considered as if he saved an entire world.” (Mishnah Sanhedrin 4:5; Yerushalmi Talmud 4:9, Babylonian Talmud Sanhedrin 37a.)
“The Holy One prepares the remedy before the wound.” (Talmud Megillah 13b) and “Allah does not burden a soul beyond what it can bear” (Qur’an 2:286)
