If the US has been holding back Intel and if you are not angry yet, you should be
Much has been made over the past few days, and rightly so, about the Biden administration holding back certain weapons from Israel due to its objection to the operations in Rafah. But apparently, while it has seemed till now that the U.S. has been a completely supportive ally to Israel, the following report has come out from the Washington Post suggesting otherwise. As Times of Israel has reported, the paper quotes four unnamed sources as saying that the United States “is offering Israel valuable assistance if it holds back, including sensitive intelligence to help the Israeli military pinpoint the location of Hamas leaders and find the group’s hidden tunnels.” When I saw this report I felt my blood boil, and frankly, if this report is accurate and you are a Jew or anyone else supporting Israel, your reaction should be the same as mine.
As the administration obstructs Israel’s operation to complete its mission to destroy any semblance of the terrorist organization Hamas in Gaza, and to not only ensure it can never again do to Israel what it did on October 7th but send a message to others, we now find out that the administration has had valuable information its been withholding. If this is the case, one could make a strong point that this is an even greater betrayal from a friend than limiting weapons at this time. Hamas leadership is a group of cowardly men hiding behind civilians in Gaza and living lives of luxury in Qatar. If there was information that could have allowed Israel to locate them, and this information was restricted or withheld, the parties responsible are responsible for extending this war and most likely the deaths of more hostages.
To put this in the simplest terms, if you had a close friend who has been attacked and threatened by an elusive neighbor, would you hold back information on how to find that neighbor? If you were on the side of the attacked neighbor would you not be outraged by a so-called friend not telling the neighbor where to find whoever is putting them in danger?
All this information tells me is that this administration is not an unconditional friend of Israel’s and is not fully supporting its ally’s right to decide for itself how to litigate a conflict. If you are not outraged you should be, and if you are not, ask yourself why. Why would you be willing to tolerate this type of behavior? Never Again is Now people. It’s time to wake up.
