Michel M.J. Shore

If We Live By the Prescribed Letter (Ten Commandments)

“The Lord’s presence fills the earth.”

Reflections on the Haftorah to Yitro  (Jethro))

(Isaiah 6:1 to 7:6 and 9:5 to 6)

Thoughts and intentions allow us to soar;

If we will and accomplish, it becomes no lore.

Belief with confidence, skepticism tore;

Thus, a vision implemented opened the door.

History does evolve for the better,

If we do live by the prescribed letter.

Dreams and aspirations, more than matter

To prepare a future that does not tatter.

The prophetic vision of Isaiah lights

The darkness and gloom of so many nights,

As it opens the gates of the heavenly spheres,

In contrast to earthly shameful acts, exile’s  tears.

Yet, the promise of the nation’s rebirth,

Remains as “the Lord’s presence fills the earth.”
