No sooner had the hostage crisis in Sydney yesterday begun , conspiracy theorists were blaming America ,George Bush and of course Israel – this would be usual course when something like this horrific Islamic terrorist attack took place.

Yesterday wasn’t unusual.

There have been over 24567 terrorist attacks since 911.
This attack wasn’t any different than any other hostage taking ,suicide attacks and murder and slaughter of Jewish or other people across the world over the past year.

However, what was unusual was the way that Twitter dealt with this a sudden tag trend #illridewithyou appeared and it became the top trending # yesterday.

But what was this all about?

The hostages were not even released!

My goodness, we hadn’t even heard the names of the victims yet and somehow this tag had been planned, it had been co-ordinated extremely well.

On Twitter it is pretty difficult to get a trending # to run but even before victims were even released this tag was number one on Twitter.

It was not about the condemnation of the terrorists, it was not about how wicked Islamic jihad is, it was not about how we can help the victims and the families.

This was selfish self opinionated # which claimed falsely that people want to ride on a bus with Muslim community members in order that they would not be “attacked” after this terror incident.

Excuse me?

The name of the victims hadn’t even been released ,we didn’t know whether they would be set free yet, we didn’t know how many had died and yet the Muslim community decided to support a trending tag about how people are going to ride on the bus with them to protect them from Islamophobia attacks?

Looking at this #most of it was conspiracy theories most of them were blaming America most of them were blaming Israel and yet here was a top Twitter trend which basically took away the emphasis of the terrorist and the condemnation of the terrorist and using it as a selfish means to say well that islamic attack happened so the muslim community will obviously be attacked !

After 7/7 not one Muslim was attacked in the United Kingdom in fact the only victims were the victims themselves from the jihadists

Why don’t we see the same trends after babies and families were murdered and slaughtered even in the past six months by Islamic jihad and Islamic Hamas?

No ! because people with respect and sense first of all focus on the victims of a tragedy and then we focus on who perpetrated the tragedy and then we think of ourselves last.

We never think of ourselves when a tragedy occurs we want to send out prayers to the fallen to the victims to the victims families and we make the best of an evil incident.

Anybody who supported that #illridewithyou yesterday should look at themselves first in the mirror and say to themselves who are we protecting here?

Are we protecting the muslim community yet again whom never come out and condemn these horrific incidents , especially by Hamas but always portray  implications that they will be now in the firing line of Islamophobia,  which is totally wrong and totally disrespectful.

When a tragedy like this occurs the muslim community firstly should condemn the terrorists then give sympathy to the victims and the victims families and their friends and their loved ones.

It was all done and dusted. Only sympathy for themselves
