I’m proud to be in Jerusalem

Terrorism doesn’t stop me from going about my daily life. While roaming the streets of Jerusalem today, I found myself singing the following song to the tune of “God Bless the USA.”

Today terrorism is alive, filled with anger and with strife,
And visiting Jerusalem is literally a danger to my life.
Yet I thank my lucky stars to be standing here today,
Visiting friends and traveling around, Hamas can’t take that away.

And I’m proud to be in Jerusalem where at least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget those who died, who gave that right to me.
And I’d gladly stand up for our right to defend our right to stay.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this city, God bless Jerusalem.

From the Liberty Bell Park, to the hills surrounding me,
across the Kotel plaza, to Emek Refaim,

From the gorgeous promenade, and streets rich with history.
Well, there’s pride in every stone and crack,
and it’s time to stand and say:

That I’m proud to be in Jerusalem where at least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget those who died, who gave that right to me.
And I’d gladly stand up for our right to defend our right to stay.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this city, God bless Jerusalem!
