In defense of Congressman Adam Schiff against an immoral President

Anyone who knows Congressman Adam Schiff recognizes the quality of the man, his intelligence, dignity, integrity, and seriousness as a public servant. Modest, refined, distinguished, thoughtful, and professional – these are the adjectives that immediately come to mind when I think of him.

In Congressman Schiff’s role as the Democratic Chair of the House Intelligence Committee, these qualities are on display every day for all to see, which is why President Trump’s attempted take-down of Adam is so outrageous, undignified, unrefined, contrary to the truth, and yes – un-presidential.

Adam Schiff is the opposite of Donald Trump. Trump’s name-calling and bullying would be comical if it were coming from anyone except the President of the United States.

President Trump, recognizing that Congressman Schiff is a serious threat to his political well-being, did what he always does – went on the attack to distract the country from his  immoral and corrupt acts that Congressman Schiff listed in his response to the demand of his Republican colleagues that he resign his position as Chair mirroring the words of the President only hours before.

Congressman Schiff represents my Congregation, Temple Israel of Hollywood. When he spoke several months ago in our packed sanctuary at, the Congressman received a well-deserved standing ovation for his integrity, courage, decency, and duty to service.

May Adam Schiff continue to do the work we elected him to do – to work on our behalf, on behalf of the American people, and for the cause of truth, integrity in government, and democracy.
