In His Song, Moses Soars Between Heaven and Earth

In His Song, Moses Soars Between Heaven and Earth

Torah Portion- Ha’azinu (Deuteronomy 32:1 to 32:52)

In his song, Moses soars between heaven and earth,

A symphony in harmony with creation.

Yet, our acts so often bring cacophony

By insensitivity, ethical morass, moral chaos.

What must it take for us to awaken

And to walk in G-d’s ways, what lessons to learn?

Never to be mute in the face of injustice.

To recall the challenges of our life journeys.

Why do we not learn from history?

The burden of Moses carrying his people,

Stems from our silence in the face of evil,

And complicity with a mob mentality.

Not to stop to listen to the voice of G-d,

heard in the still small voice of conscience.
