Is Trump Hatred Syndrome Adding to Jew Hatred?
It has become clear to me that in addition to rising anti-Semitism in America there is a new layer of anti-Israel sentiment growing quickly here, especially among Democrats and younger voters. Also, concurrently, there is very little way to overstate the enormity of Trump hatred (TDS) in the USA today. Psychotherapist Jonathan Alpert stated in a media appearance that obsessive political preoccupation with Trump affected roughly 75% of his patient base. Of course Dr. Alpert is just one practitioner.
And guess what–President Donald J. Trump has been a supporter both of Israel and of its Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.
Presently 57% of Democrats in the USA state that Trump favors Israel too much. According to Pew Research Center over half (55%) of all Americans lack confidence in Trump’s decision making regarding US-Israel relations. Only 23% of all Americans feel Trump shows the right balance in regard to Israel’s position in its current conflict.
As for anti-Semitism in America today, Pew Research Center finds that just 35% of residents hold a “favorable” view of Jews, and anti-Semitic incidents continue to grow. So does Trump approval ratings–but in the other direction! Current polling places his approval rating at just 35%.
It is certainly not a stretch to see the connection. The hatred of Trump dovetails perfectly with the rise in anti-Zionism. And frankly, both of these “anti’s” exist in much the same way: each is a virus, one that infects and spreads easily. In this case, in my humble opinion, they keep re-infecting in tandem. Where is Dr. Salk, or his heir, when we so badly need him–her?
