Israel can not win Against a Palestinian Blonde
I served in Nabeh Saleh in the last few months of my IDF service in 2015 where I had the chance to see Ahed Tamimi who cursed at us while her neighbors threw rocks at us and the journalists who were there called us criminals.
Our job was to prevent them from descending onto the highway below where many cars passed by and they would hurl rocks and molotov cocktails which could kill or injure many of the drivers using the highway.
During my last time there I had a soldier in my platoon who was hit with a rock on the shoulder, he was bleeding everywhere and I had no idea a rock could do such damage to a human being; he ended up being taken to the hospital where he stayed there for all of Shabbat.
After leaving the army I would constantly see videos on YouTube of her and her family constantly assaulting soldiers while wearing gas masks and being interviewed by Janna Jihad where she would say how terrible it was to live under Israeli occupation because she feared for her life.
Then last year after being at the forefront of YouTube videos she was caught on camera slapping, kicking and pushing a soldier in the face while the soldier did not react at all.
This outraged the Israeli public so much that due to public pressure the Border Patrol came at night and arrested, she was eventually sentenced to 8 months since she pleaded guilty to assaulting soldiers and had to pay a 5,000 shekel fee.
Even though there are massive human rights violations happening all over the world from the persecution of LGBT people being killed in Muslim theocratic countries or people being taken from authoritarian governments never to be seen again, for some reason a young teen being sentenced to eight months in jail for assault brings public outcry.
Jeremy Corbyn the leader of the Labor party in Britain was interviewed by Janna Jihad where she asked him what he thought about Israel arresting a minor in prison when his response was, ” Children should never be in prison because people are standing up for their rights and they are allowed to do that.”
Corbyn’s response was one of both ignorance and stupidity when he says children should never be in prison because there are literally thousands of children who break the law every year so because they are children they should not go to prison. What kind of education would such children be brought up with knowing there are no consequences to their actions?
People fighting for their rights? What rights? The right to riot, throw rocks, murder and incite hatred against Jews living in Israel?
Palestinians in the West Bank live normal lives like anywhere else in the civilized world, just driving up and down highway 60 you see a bunch of Palestinians driving new BMWs, you see mansions throughout several villages and factories on the outskirts of Hebron.
Palestinians attend college and even get work permits to go into Israel proper where they work in menial jobs to professional occupations like engineers and doctors.
Yet, people who have never stepped foot in the West Bank or have taken left wing tours and have only listened to the narrative of the oppressed Palestinians have protested at Israeli consulates and embassies across the world demanding the release of Ahed Tamimi from prison because of the inhumane treatment she received.
On Ahed Tamimi’s 17th birthday many Jewish Americans sent letter to her father Bassam with messages of support and about 100 Jewish activists protested at Israeli consulates across the East Coast of the United States.
There were publications in respected media outlets like Al Jazeera where they constantly wrote about Ethnic cleansing and how settlers continued to attack Nabi Saleh.
Settler attacks on Nabi Saleh is perhaps one of the biggest lies propagated on social media because most people in those settlements are not even home during the day because they are either in school or working outside of their community, even more so the majority of settlers in the area are religious and they are not going to break Shabbat to make Arab lives miserable.
If a settler would even try to go inside Nabi Salah they would be lynched by an angry mob so fast and their bodies would be turned into hundreds of pieces that there would be nothing left.
Tamimi’s detainment and arrest has led her to become an international celebrity not just from radical news outlets like Electronic Intifada, but the international press like CNN and ABC have caused many people to be in uproar around the world and condemn Israel for arresting a minor even though their own countries also arrest minors for assaulting soldiers or police officers.
On her release she was welcomed by tens of different news outlets in front of her home as if she was some sort of Nelson Mandela who was just jailed because of some racial apartheid she suffered.
During her interview it can be seen that she put on 20 pounds so she was fed very well, she said during her press conference that she is going to study law and become a lawyer to continue the resistance against the occupation and learned to love life more.
Israel can not win because while they did the right thing imprisoning a teenager who assaulted soldiers, they did not achieve in rehabilitating her actions or changing her mind about Jihad against Israel.
Tamimi is now a hero in the resistance against the existence of the state of Israel with murals painted in walls throughout the West Bank and the world.
Public opinion in the world is on the side of Ahed Tamimi; mainstream politicians like Jeremey Corbyn have voiced a great amount of support for Ahed Tamimi assaulting soldiers as if it was her natural right to do so.
Besides Israelis who have voiced their disgust for years how Palestinians terrorists in prisons are educated in prison to receive bachelor and master degrees with access to thousands of books to educate themselves.
In real authoritarian countries prisoners don’t have such luxuries of getting fed well, getting degrees, thousands of books to read on their down time, and have to worry about getting raped or killed in prison.
Israel has lost the public relations battle years ago, Palestinians who are released from prison get a rise in their social status in their society with an increase in salary and an easy way into political office.
