Israel does not Exist: The World Map According to Qatar
The magnitude of Qatar’s global campaign to delegitimize and eliminate Israel should worry us all
The View from 30,000 Feet. My wife Karen and I lifted off to Africa on our first Qatar Airways flight. Our interactive in-flight map charted the plane’s progress while showcasing the world’s geography. As we approached the Middle East, a jarring anomaly came into focus. Where was the sovereign state of Israel on the map ? The landmass existed, but no nation. Zoom in? Gone too was every Israeli city. The world map replaced Israel with the “Palestinian Territories”, and with Ramallah, Gaza, and Khan Yunis in place of Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Haifa.
Was Qatar’s cartographic erasure of our Jewish homeland an isolated action by a private airline, a technical glitch, or Qatar government policy. If the latter, what role and influence does Qatar exert over the Iran Republic and its terrorist proxies to erase Israel “from the River to the Sea”?
The public record reveals Qatar’s sophisticated, deeply funded and multi-pronged global strategy aimed at the complete delegitimization and eventual elimination of Israel. This brief summary seems just the tip of a massive iceberg.
It seems Qatar’s strategy of Israel’s erasure comprises four interlocking pillars:
- Lies and Propaganda of a Global Scale: Qatar uses its state-owned global airline to broadcast Israel’s non-existence to more than 50 million captive travelers flying annually to 197 countries. Travelers viewing Qatar Airway’s Israel-scrubbed flight map represent an influential and diverse cross-section of global society. The Qatar-founded Al Jazeera Network then massively projects through 70 bureaus with 3,000 employees a global theme of Israel as a colonizer, aggressor and genocide-committing Zionist-entity to 95 countries and a global audience of over 1.4 billion viewers. During the 2017 Qatar diplomatic crisis, the complete shutdown of the Al Jazeera network was one of the central demands made by Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, and Egypt, demonstrating its role as a destabilizing propaganda tool in the eyes of its neighbors. The result is that Israel’s very existence seems questionable, conditional, and subject to debate.
- Sponsorship of Terrorism: Qatar is considered the Hamas Movement’s main artery. Qatar harbors and protects its leadership in its Doha capital, and has pumped an estimated $1.8 billion to the Gaza-based terrorist organization since 2007. Qatar maintains a strategic security, diplomatic and economic alliance with the Islamic Republic of Iran and its proxies who are ideologically committed to a perpetual state of conflict and Israel’s eventual violent destruction.
- Diplomatic Deception: Qatar plays a masterful diplomatic role both as an inciter of violence and as a Middle East peacemaker, creating and sustaining crises while positioning itself as the sole indispensable mediator, thereby gaining geopolitical leverage and shielding itself from accountability.
- Generational Indoctrination: Qatar’s campaign to shape an anti-Israel worldview is waged on two primary fronts: via global media, through its state-owned Al Jazeera network, and via Western academia. Qatar strategically invested an unprecedented $4.7 billion in dozens of elite academic institutions in North America. Landmark studies by the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy (ISGAP) and others have linked this funding to the proliferation of anti-Israel student groups, the development of biased K-12 curricula by university outreach programs, and the cultivation of an academic climate that silences pro-Israel voices and normalizes antisemitic rhetoric. One can understand how support for Israel among current and future generations of North American, Asian and European leaders, organizations, journalists, and citizens has been seriously eroded.
The complex role of Qatar in global terrorism against Israel and the West is debated in the news. The Israeli government does not list Qatar as a terrorist nation and publicly downplays its influence. One may believe Qatar gifts directed to Western governments and institutions and its direct access to Hamas and Iran may facilitate Middle-East and global peace. Yet, one can see the most horrendous massacre of Jews since the Shoah celebrated by Hamas leaders from the balconies of their luxurious Doha offices. One can read that Iran and Hamas reframed October 7th through Al Jazeera to the world as a Gaza victory intended to only harm Israeli military personnel and abduct soldiers while not harming women, children and the elderly.
I wish it was not the case. (If you are interested in my deeper investigative research report, contact me). Yet, what I see in the world and read in public records seems evident. Israel’s non-existence on Qatar Airway’s flight map at 30,000 feet is the endgame of a skillfully crafted, multi-faceted global campaign that begins in the palaces of Doha. It flows through the coffers of Hamas, Iran and other terror proxies, is laundered through the lecture halls and research centers of elite Western universities, and is broadcast to the world’s billions by a sophisticated state-owned media network. It is a quiet, insidious, and multi-front war of delegitimization and incitement. To understand this global strategy is to understand the true nature of the forces seeking not just to critique Israel, but to remove it from the world entirely—first from the map, and then from the mind.
