Israel Marks 78 Years of Independence

Today is a special day — a day that means far more than just a date on the calendar for every Israeli. It is the birthday of our shared home, a home that the Jewish people regained after long centuries of exile, suffering, wandering, and hope. After a millennia-long history filled with trials and pain, we once again have a place where we can live freely, speak our own language, defend ourselves, and build our future. This place is the State of Israel.

For me, Israel is a home that always welcomes you. It is a small country with a great heart, whose true value lies above all in its people — in their courage, their love of life, their responsibility for one another, and the inner strength that allows them to move forward despite everything. Israel understands the value of peace, security, and human life. That is why it never abandons its people, wherever they may live, especially in times of hardship.

The history of Israel is not only a history of struggle, but also the story of a great return — the return of a people to its land, to its home, and to its history. It is the story of those who managed to preserve faith, dignity, and hope even when it seemed impossible. That is why this day is not only a day of joy, but also a day of deep gratitude — to those who dreamed, who fought, who defended, and who continue to defend our home.

I am proud to be Jewish. I am proud of my country. And I am proud to be a Zionist.
Throughout my life, I will do everything in my power to ensure that Israel becomes stronger and better, that it continues to grow, prosper, and remain a reliable home for its people.

Happy birthday, my beloved Israel.
I wish you peace, strength, unity, success, and prosperity.

The people of Israel live.
And we — its people — will do everything to ensure that the State of Israel exists forever.
