In 1947, after losing more than half the land promised under the British mandate through the UN partition that created Israel and Jordan from the land referred to by the British as Palestine, Israel was willing to accept peace with the Arab nations. The Arab nations did not want to live in peace with a Jewish state existing anywhere near them.
Many of the horrors of what the Nazis did to the Jewish people throughout Europe was known by that time to the world and the world, as far as nations go, did not care that the Arabs wanted to kill the Jews as badly as the Nazis.
When the world governments refused to come to the aid of Israel before she had a chance to be born, Israel stood alone. Every nation who had been fighting Nazis in Europe seemed content to let the same thing play out in the Middle East by people who held the exact same views as the Nazis.
Israel stood alone.
The British abandoned military equipment to arm the Arabs and had military advisors helping the Arabs to destroy the only Jewish nation in the world before it had a chance to succeed.
Every nation either sided with the Arabs, who were no different ideologically than the Nazis, or remained neutral in the face of the same evil. The United States chose the evil of neutrality. Evil thrives when good men do nothing, as the saying goes. The Nazis and Arabs held the same viewpoints, and both were equally evil. Being neutral with the Arabs who wished to kill Jewish people was no different than staying neutral with Nazi Germany.
Not only did the United States remain neutral, but the government also made it illegal for Americans to choose to fight with Israel. Every American who chose to fight with Israel risked more than their lives fighting for what they believed was the right thing to do. They risked their citizenship.
Israel, unlike the Arab nations, could not directly purchase weapons from any nation. They had to go behind the Iron Curtain to purchase what they could without anyone finding out it was for Israel.
In order to purchase weapons and fund a nascent government, Israel needed financial assistance, which no country would give. Just like weapons purchases, Israel had to go through less than legal means. They had to turn to members of the Jewish Mafia in the United States, such as Meyer Lansky, and other underground sources.
Had Israel been treated like Jordan, one more nation among nations, they would not have stood alone. Jordan did not stand alone, but Israel did. The only Jewish nation in the world lacked support from any other nation for one reason. She was a Jewish state.
Despite all the odds against her, Israel won and survived. Outmanned and outgunned in every way conceivable, and Israel won. Despite the wishes for her death by all, Israel won. Despite standing alone, Israel won.
No other nation has ever faced those kinds of odds and won, but Israel did. Israel’s survival was miraculous. God was there with the Jewish and Arabs who fought alongside the Jewish people. There can be no other explanation for Israel still standing after those odds. God was with Israel.
