Israel’s friends and enemies seem misinformed about a dozen major issues

None of these are secrets, so they are blind spots and unhelpful

1. Jews will never give up. We are invincible. People sold on exterminating the Jews can forget it and take up a different hobby. We might get tired of war and then embark on idiotic, fake peace processes, but under threat, we will never give up and unite to survive, and we even will come out stronger. It doesn’t make any sense, but that’s how it is. Ask any Israeli.

2. It was a fable that before October 7, 2023, we had great disunity. The government sought judicial reforms and 80+% of Israelis were against it. That’s not a lack of unity. That’s an administration hostile to the People.

3. The Two-State Solution is dead. Very dead. From ultra-Left to ultra-Right, every Israel, except for a handful of political nobodies, agrees.

Political leaders around the world keep flogging the dead horse. It can’t work. The only solution is an end to local Antisemitism so that we can live in one State in peace and prosperity. In different villages because, neither group likes to intermarry. And we’re on our way to end local Jew-hatred.

Israel’s Muslims feel deeply ashamed and disgusted by what was done on October 7. More and more, they identify as Israeli rather than Palestinian.

They’re tired of being helpless players in a script that has them as losers.

Besides, the whole mantra of End the Occupation is nonsense. When the West Bank was occupied by Jordan, no one wanted a Palestinian State there. When Egypt occupied Gaza, no one wanted a Palestinian State there. Now Israel has left, and they are occupied by terrorists who steal all the money and aid and respect no human rights, are they happy? Anti-Zionists who scream End the Occupation don’t know what they’re talking about. Besides, the dispute is not territorial. If it were, they would claim Jordan. What we see is just religious hatred for and jealousy of the Jews.

4. Israeli Jews don’t hate Muslims. We don’t. There’s no ‘mutual hatred.’ Maximally, Jews may feel sick and tired of Gentiles, like women at times can’t stand men (and that’s not ‘tension between the sexes’), or Blacks are sick of Whites (and that’s not ‘racial tension’). Every oppression is a one-way street, with an oppressor side and oppressed. Jews built their State as democratic with full equality for that reason. Compare that with Jordan, where Jews are not even allowed to own land or sleep over.

5. Most Jewish Israelis are non-Whites, most of them Arab. The relationship between Israeli Muslims and Jews is like that between German Christians and Jews. There are no ‘ethnic tensions.’ The only trouble is Antisemitism. There will be peace as soon as 80% of Muslim Israelis show they’ll respect, even love, and protect Jews. Simple as that.

6. The October 7, 2023, pogrom by Chamas was worse than the Holocaust. Not in scope but in the planning, zeal, enthusiasm, and pride with which the genocide was done, with 15+ different types of war crimes and crimes against humanity. Israel went on to end Chamas. Yet, we’re not consumed by hatred. Politicians and journalists who ‘understand the Israeli rage’ should speak for themselves. We are not possessed by fury. When we bury our dearest, we don’t shout threats and insults. We express sadness about our losses and gratefulness for their sacrifices and what they gave us, that they were with us at all. We are not an angry People. Our soldiers are not driven to kill but rather to protect Israel. They have no beef with civilians; only with terrorists. The stereotype of the revengeful Jew has long Antisemitic roots. Christians with the G^d of love are commanded to turn the other cheek, while the G^d of the Old Testament commands wars. This is such a chutzpa coming from leaders of the Inquisition and the Crusades.

Jews respect life and reject death as no others. We went into Gaza to take out terrorists and spare the civilians. Over 100 dead IDF soldiers already and 1500+ wounded out of respect for the rule of war law. It would have been easier on us to just carpet bomb terrorist strongholds or shoot as indiscriminately as Chamas does. We seek not to kill nor to die. Hundreds of Israeli civilians are displaced. A million parents wait every second with bated breath if the IDF won’t knock on their door with a message of death.

Some Gaza neighborhoods have no house standing. But neighborhoods had terrorists shooting from every home, weapons concealed in every home, and an entrance to the tunnel network in every home.

7. Gentiles are often conditioned to disrespect Jews. Also many of our friends. How do I know? They mean well, but they must try harder to keep their disrespect in check. It may help them to look how honorable we are, how honest, and how ethical, in general. Don’t lecture us on ethics. Don’t tell the world how much you love us, but that must be critical of us. If we do anything wrong, we have enough Jews around to voice dissent.

8. Stop pitying the Jews. The Holocaust was unimaginably bad, but it was the downfall of Christian Europe, not of the Jews. We did nothing wrong.

Stand with us not just because we are a vulnerable minority or out of guilt feelings about Antisemitism. Protect us because you would hurt your own moral self if you didn’t. Just like respectfully you should protect kids.

9. Gentiles may be religious, traditional, or secular, but Jews are not a religious community. We are a People, with a common history, homeland, languages, immense literature, and rich culture, of which a central part is religious. But as a People, we are also different from all other Peoples in the world. Others form a home or unit because of shared interests, geographically, historically, culturally, language-wise, etc. Not so Jews.

We are the only People with a Mission. Our Tradition teaches us that we need to teach all people some ethics we learned, with no need to win them over to Judaism or the Jewish Nation. That’s why we can’t assimilate and intermarry away. We need to maintain ourselves, even when we are abandoned by the masses and held hostage and used by despots.

Your empathy with the State of Israel has a few pitfalls. On the one hand, we’re like every modern State, with corruption, red tape, cronyism, illegal theft, sexism, racism, etc. But we’re also like no other State. Our army and security bosses and the rich are mostly Left-wing. We tend to flip between deep despair and foolish optimism. And, while we are all amateur opinion leaders and philosophers, we’re also activists: we thrive when we can act.

10. Lying about Jews is done around the clock with zeal. Don’t be so naïve. Whatever they say about Jews that’s untrue of your family is lied. Be ready to disbelieve it. Truth is dead, proofs are bogus, testimonies are theater, and trusting them doesn’t endear you to the liars. They find you fools.

Unfortunately, one cannot rely on anything said by the UN, Palestinian aid organizations, the EU, journalists, eyewitnesses, politicians, academics, or terrorists unless there is reason to believe them. Antisemitism is a great unifying force. The IDF functions in a democracy and can be trusted. Remember not to blame the victim. Jews do not cause Jew-hatred.

11. The lies about Jews are not random. They are what is done to Jews. Is the essence of Antisemitism to kill Jews without mercy – call Jews killers without mercy. The Nazis murdered 1.5 million Jews – call the Jews baby killers. Jews were robbed of their Homeland – call them colonizers. Jews are made powerless and held hostage – say that Jews rule the world. Have Jews suffered genocide and ethnic cleansing – accuse them of that. Etc.

The worldwide flair-up in Antisemitic claims now is because their fellow Jew-haters Chamas are losing and to ‘neutralize’ their October 7 pogrom.

You might not fall for this charade, but globally, it runs like clockwork.

12. Jews are an oppressed group, both as minorities in the Diaspora as well as the pariah State in the United Nations, of whom most are dictatorships.

Most Jews work for a living and live from paycheck to paycheck. They don’t all play violin and aren’t all bankers. Among the bankers and Nobel Prize winners, there are proportionally more Jews but that is because Jews work harder, driven by an angst not to survive literally. The main reason for the disproportionally high numbers of Jews among physicians, dentists, and lawyers is the same as for Chinese in their Diaspora: survival.

As long as the masses (and their religious leaders) have not denounced Jews-hatred, Jews will flee to people in power for protection. Even if, time and again, they’ll let the Jews do their mean work and then, in the end, blame the Jews. Better to survive for a short time than not immediately. The unchallenged Antisemitism among the Gentile masses makes that the real thieves can hold the Jews hostage and continue to exploit the masses.

The late Jo Saunders, a fierce ally to Jews, used to say: ‘I’m always happy when Jews have money. It means they have a greater chance to survive.’ Once, at a workshop for people ‘who came from money,’ she asked: ‘Are you not all terrified the masses will revolt and take all your money?’ The Jews present said laconically: ‘Not us. By then, we’d be murdered already.’

But one thing became clear. For decades, Anti-Zionists claimed to be not anti-Jewish, just friends with Palestinians. That pretense is gone. Marchers openly call for genocide on the Jews and say how much they hate them.
