Israel’s Governmental ‘Fiasco’
The inability of the Israelis to keep a “normal” functioning government is indicative of its very character. It is a country which has “no Indians, only chiefs”. A country which the individual concern is more important than the national objectives.
There is no other country on this planet which has more parties than opinions. It seems that we are waiting for a catastrophe to pull us all together. While Israel enjoys a peace treaty with more Arab countries than ever, it is also “treading” on the worst antisemitic burst of the new century. It seems that a people whose history is as full of national calamities as ours, should be able to forge a national character with a much higher sense of unity and responsibility.
Let us hope that Israelis, both religious and secular, will come up with the wisdom to unite for the good of our national aspirations.
