It just goes on and on and on

This week’s parsha contains a variety of different types of mitzvot. One of them is sending away the mother bird when taking her eggs. This mitzvah is immediately followed by the mitzvah of making a guard rail on your roof. Rashi comments on the juxtaposition of these mitzvoth quoting the Mishna in Pirkei Avot that one mitzvah leads to another mitzvah (Avot 4:2).

We are only a few weeks away from Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur where we can once again start anew, repent for our misdeeds, and improve are overall relationship with God and our fellow man. May we merit, like Rashi’s comment to have any mitzvoth we do this year be only a beginning to a lifetime of performing more and more mitzvot every single day.
