It’s time to take off the gloves

I once read that when Israel was having problems with Nasser, Egypt’s leader, because he was blocking the Strait of Tiran, that the Lubavitcher Rebbe advised Israel to just eliminate him. As I remember it, the Rebbe said that there doesn’t need to be a war; they just need to get rid of Nasser, and that will solve everything. Because it was Nasser who was causing the problem.

I think this advice comes in very handy after today’s attacks on Binyamina. I think it’s time to take off the gloves. I think we need to take the Rebbe’s advice to heart, and eliminate the leadership of the Iranian regime. We need to hit them hard. Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said that we need to now get rid of Iran’s atomic weapons and eliminate the regime’s leaders.

Poilievre, who may soon become Canada’s prime minister, said that Israel should destroy Iran’s nuclear ability and thus benefit the world. Trump said they should do so. John Bolton said they should do so.

We have to stop dancing around with the Americans. They’re sending the THAAD missile defence in order to try to placate Israel, calm them down, saying: “Here you have a defence.” That was the same strategy with the Iron Dome, to prevent Israel from attacking. America said “We will send you a defense.” Biden said “Take the win.”

Israel needs to not just stand there and hope that enemy threats may not happen. The ‘win’ is to eliminate the threat. The win is to go after the source of the terror. The win is to eliminate Iran’s leadership, to take out the atomic weapon, and to show the world that Israel knows how to defend itself.

The win is to not be distracted by the US or others who have their own interest, namely, that the US doesn’t want the Gulf countries and their oil fields to be attacked by Iran, which which is what could possibly happen if Israel hits hard. But sometimes Israel just needs to do what’s good for itself. It’s enough of trying to please everyone.

It’s time to decide that Jewish lives are precious, and that we need to do what we need to do to defend the land, with the defence that will work — namely the defence of a strong offence.

Once we take out the leadership, once we take out their atomic weapon, then we can relax. Then we can let the Iranian people possibly do the rest by overthrowing the government. But the main thing is, that a strong approach will take the wind out of the sails of Iran’s regime, and Hezbollah, and Hamas, and Iran’s other proxies. And then we can continue to mop up.

Let’s trust our instincts. Let’s trust what the Rebbe said. Let’s take out Iran’s leadership, and watch how things settle down nicely.
