Jewish Hospital Albert Einstein Puts Brazil at the Top of Global Medicine
In 2026 and 2027, Brazil established itself as a medical powerhouse in Latin America and on the world stage. The Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein — a Jewish institution — led international rankings in eight specialties, while the country was recognized with 33 hospitals among the best worldwide, according to Newsweek.
Brazil reaffirmed its prominent position in international medicine. In 2026, Albert Einstein was named the best hospital in Latin America across eight specialties by the IntelLat consultancy, placing the country at the top of the region. Alongside Einstein, Hospital Sírio-Libanês and Hospital Moinhos de Vento also ranked among the five best in Latin America, underscoring the strength of Brazilian healthcare.
That same year, Brazil placed 41 hospitals among the 105 best in the region, with seven institutions in the top 20. Einstein led in Oncology, Cardiology, Neurology, and Pediatrics, consolidating its reputation as a center of excellence.
In 2027, recognition expanded globally. The World’s Best Specialized Hospitals ranking by Newsweek highlighted 33 Brazilian hospitals among the best in the world, a significant increase from the previous year. Einstein once again stood out, leading in eight specialties and ranking among the top 15 worldwide in Gastroenterology and Neurosurgery.
Other Brazilian centers also gained visibility: Sírio-Libanês in Oncology and Urology, InCor in Cardiac Surgery, A.C. Camargo Cancer Center in Pediatrics, and Hospital do Rim e Hipertensão in Nephrology. São Paulo alone accounted for 21 of the 33 listed institutions, confirming its role as a hub of medical excellence.
These results consolidate Brazil as a reference in specialized healthcare in Latin America and expand its presence on the global stage, demonstrating that Brazilian medicine combines innovation, research, and high-quality care at the cutting edge.
