Jews & Purpose
G-d created us to all have purpose, to be a holy moral being. B’Tzelem elokim, is in the image of g-d . It is a responsibility, a reminder of how to reflect in the world.
As Jews , G-d made it very clear as to our purpose. He delineated the path for us .
He set a covenant with the Jewish people, he gave us the Torah, the Holy land, and his dwelling within and around us. He asked us to be a light unto the nations.
These days with all of the chaos, antisemitism and radical behaviors, we must hold on stronger than ever to our gifted purpose.
It is not easy.
I guess that “ purpose” came to mind more so recently as all these warped fingers are pointing at us with irrational accusations and malevolence.
And with all this, I have a greater appreciation for the gift and direction that g-d bestowed upon us.
I was also wondering about how a Baal Teshuva , a returnee to Judaism, finds his path, how does he recognize that he was drifting through life until he realizes his g-dly Jewish purpose. Or a Convert , what drove them to their path?
It is never too late embark onto a more purposeful Jewish life connecting deeper and deeper.
Perhaps it is our gifted purpose embedded with Hashem/G-d , that has helped us carry on for generations, through challenges, strife, wars, hatred, and near destruction. We survive, we rise again and again.
I am waiting, barely patiently, for more individuals to open up their eyes and begin their path to embrace this light. I am also waiting for the greatest light to finally arrive for all to see.
Until then; keep your heads up high, be strong, keep growing in faith , Jewish life and knowledge, persue good deeds and Joy.
Rosh Chodesh tov, Blessed new month.
