Kosher Cajun Blackened Tuna Steaks
Kosher Cajun Blackened Tuna Steaks
This recipe is really so special I almost never do this for any dinner other then for Erev Shabbat. Give this a try it really is wonderful.
Ingredients
4 Tuna Steaks
Seasoning
1 tsp. fresh Thyme minced
½ tsp. dried Oregano
½ tsp. Cayenne Pepper to taste
½ tsp. sweet Paprika
½ tsp. Ground Black Pepper
½ tsp. Fennel Seed crushed
2 tbs. Sugar (The sugar allows everything to caramelize very quickly.)
2 tbs. Canola Oil
2 Lemons sliced for Garnish
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degree F..
Rinse off the tuna steaks and pat dry. Mix spice ingredients in small bowl.
Place steaks on baking sheet, brush on both sides with one tablespoon of olive oil. Sprinkle top of each with seasoning.
Add 1 tablespoon oil and heat in a a heavy cast iron skillet over high heat until it begins to smoke. Place steaks seasoning side down in skillet. Season the top of the tuna steaks with blackening seasoning. Cook until very brown on bottom (about 1 min). Remove from the skillet and place blackened side up to baking sheet.
Place in oven; bake until done (about 8 min).
Serve with a salad, a fresh vegetable, some pasta, maybe a Spinach Quiche and a cup of soup.
Scrub the kids, add some Challah, light a couple Candles, pour some Kosher Israeli Wine. I really love the Kosher Israeli Merlot wines.
Remember it was Hashem that provided you with everything that you have. Make this Erev Shabbat special and add a few prayers over the Wine, the Challah, your Family, the Jewish People and for the State of Israel. Don’t forget to bless the children and your all set for Shabbat.
This is your day. Keep it Holy, forget the problems of the world, I guarantee you they will be there after Shabbat. Most importantly reconnect with your family and enjoy Shabbat.
Shabbat Shalom All!
