Lakewood Cemetery And Never Forgetting The Legacy That Hubert Humphrey Left Behind

The funeral of Daunte Wright dominated the news on Thursday. And it was interesting that the place chosen to hold the final ceremony was Lakewood Cemetery where Hubert H. Humphrey is also buried alongside wife Muriel.

I previously wrote a Blog including a video showing a ceremony unveiling a statue of Hubert Humphrey.  Many speakers praised Humphrey for being their great friend and the many accomplishments that defined Humphrey’s legacy.

Humphrey’s Burial Site

For the many accomplishments Humphrey achieved during his lifetime, his burial site is quite simple as illustrated in the following series of photographs contained in the link below-

Comparing this to George Floyd’s site located only a few miles away makes me wonder whose memory will receive the most attention in the years ahead.

That is an important point because it sends a strong message to our children when deciding whose legacy they must follow throughout the remainder of their lives.
