Leftist NGOs have to leave Hebron
Four years ago, when I started learning in yeshiva after two years in the army, we had a large event when we all walked towards the Cave of the Patriarchs.
On our way there stood an Arab woman from the United States who was putting a camera in the faces of students telling us in English how we were occupiers.
As time progressed, I have seen many tourists walk through Hebron by left-wing tour guides and NGOs be told lies about how horrible the living conditions are in Hebron because of settlers like myself.
Many people throughout the time of passing through Hebron are told about how the situation of the Palestinians are hopeless in the area.
Yet, they each pay the Palestinian tour guide about a hundred dollars each and are led of a tour of the old city without taking them to their huge mall and industrial area.
Hebron is one of the most populous and wealthiest cities in the West Bank, any other Arab in the world with the exception of the Gulf States would love to be able to have internet access, clean water and electricity and also have the ability to make money.
If it wasn’t for the fact that the IDF patrols and monitors Hebron there would be no tourists coming to Hebron at all, the whole city would have been taken over by Hamas now and their whole economy would be dead.
Sure, they get their water shut of time to time but that is because the PA has refused to coordinate with the Israeli water authorities to properly distribute water as stated by the dreaded Oslo accords.
Now people around the world have been coming to Israel for years to volunteer for these NGOs in Hebron like The Temporary International Presence in Hebron, EAPPI or CPT.
All these people just take up space and try to document human rights abuses by the Israeli government.
I have never seen any kind of condemnation from these NGOs of how the PA constantly violates Palestinian rights by torturing, murdering and arresting their citizens without any form of due process.
I even spoke to a soldier once when I took a group to speak with Issa Amro, the soldier told me he saw his kid throw a bottle at the house and than went to the soldier on duty to tell him the Jews did it.
The soldier saw Issa’s kid do it and instead of being up front with him the soldier told him to hand over the video from the CCTV cameras on his property to find out who did it and Issa walked away.
These NGOs are not making life better for the residents nor are they useful in anything except for taking pictures of showing people in a vest escorting kids across the old city of Hebron from the bad Israeli soldiers who harass them.
If they weren’t there these kids would be escorted by the army because every Saturday there is a tour of the old City of Hebron for Jews who come across the country because there is a significant amount of Jewish History and property in that area.
Yet, these NGO people are told instead this is done for harassment of the local Palestinian population to annoy and punish them because they are Palestinian.
Such assertions are completely ridiculous since the army tries to come at a time when most of the businesses are closed and tell people before going in to behave themselves and not start fights.
Jews have been arrested by the army for starting fights with Arabs on the tour of the Old City of Hebron.
Just a few months ago a Swiss representative of TIPH came to Tel Rumieda and smacked a Jewish child for no reason except that he was Jewish.
Did the IDF hand him over to the Israeli police to put him in jail for assaulting a child which was even caught on video.
No, Israel just expelled him from the country and no charges were ever filed against this full grown man striking a child.
This man should be sitting in one of our jails right now for battery of a juvenile, in any other country he would be sitting at least a few months in jail but, because he is a member of a left wing NGO they seem to be above the law.
Recently Im Tirzu filmed a bunch of low life EAPPI in Hebron were he filmed them and they all refused to even speak to the camera and talk to them.
These NGOs are not doing their jobs properly because if they were they would be reporting on all the human rights abuses perpetrated by the PA.
Instead these organization want to come to Israel to demonize our country and demonize our soldiers while they enjoy the beach in the Dead Sea and enjoy going to a bar in Jerusalem because G-d knows they can not get alcohol so freely in Hebron.
Jews and Arabs can co-exist perfectly well without any foreign intervention, we have been doing it ever since the crusades, maybe not as peacefully as today but, ever since the army has taken control for the security of the people living in Hebron there hasn’t really been any major incidents in years.
