Leslie Hornberg Stern 1951-2024

Leslie Hornberg Stern (Z”L) passed away on January 9, 2024, at the age of 72, in Jerusalem, Israel. She was born on October 17, 1951, in Detroit, Michigan. Leslie was a loving mother and grandmother, and a kind and gentle soul who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Leslie was a gifted artist who completed tens of thousands of paintings in her lifetime with several art shows around the world. She worked on all mediums with periods of different genres using oils, acrylics, and watercolours.

Her artistic talent was truly remarkable, and she found joy and fulfilment in expressing herself through her artwork. She was also an avid reader and had a funny sense of humour that brought laughter to those around her. Leslie had a deep love for dogs and enjoyed spending time with her loving pets over the years. She was dedicated to Holocaust studies, always seeking to expand her knowledge on the subject.

Leslie had a dream to live out her days in the state of Israel, a place she loved dearly. She found solace and inspiration in the rich history and culture of the country. Leslie’s love for Israel was a significant part of her life.

Outside of her work, Leslie had a variety of hobbies that brought her joy and fulfilment. She had a passion for painting and drawing, and her artistic talent shone through in every piece she created. Leslie also enjoyed reading, watching movies, and volunteering her time to teach young children art.

Leslie leaves behind a legacy of love and creativity. She is survived by her daughter Leah Stern and son-in-law Jack Power, as well as her grandchildren Jacob, Jonas, and Leonard Power. She is also survived by her son Ellie Stern, daughter-in-law Diana Stern, and grandson Benjamin Stern.

Leslie was preceded in death by her parents, Renee and Burton Hornberg, and her sister Ronni Feuer. Their memories will forever be cherished by those who loved them.

May Leslie Hornberg Stern’s memory forever be a blessing to all who knew her. She will be remembered for her artistic talent, her kind and gentle nature, and her love for her family and the state of Israel. Her legacy will live on through her beautiful artwork and the love she shared with others. Baruch Dayan Haemet.
