Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité

French rioters claiming to fight for better schools and education, for better benefits (already one of the best bundles around) and lower cost of living chose a unique road to accomplish their goals. Their way to hell is not lined with good intentions but only with fire and plunder, apocalypse coming directly from Medieval imagery of inferno. And I am afraid this is just the beginning of a road taken together by combined forces of socialism and islamism, the red and green movement: no, this is not Christmas by any means.

The protests, yes, that how it started in France with protests led by what we assumed were high schoolers, and escalated rather quickly into skirmishes with police, fire and destruction of historic buildings and private property by mobs of young people of mixed ethnic background, many wrapped in kefiyas and waving Palestinian flags. Their claim that their actions benefit Palestinians complemented their logo “Globalize intifada”. And the French government naively thought that the recent recognition of Palestinian state by France will lead to a two state solution, introduction of democracy, and most importantly that it would buy France a great favor in Palestinian eyes. It brought France only tsures.

As expected the riots deteriorated pretty quickly into the same script as in the past. First they came for the Jews starting with the October 7 massacre. Jew-hatred and calls for globalized intifada have continued though the war in Gaza with accusations of genocide committed by Israel. This is done even today though the Gaza war is over and it has become clear that Hamas oppresses and tortures its own population in Gaza. But I guess that’s OK as long as there are some Israeli troops in the neighborhood who can be blamed for all the mess in Gaza. I guess if that was the case it was OK to ransack a synagogue in Paris and a slew of Jewish businesses in Marseilles. Just like during the good times of pogroms. And now according to some it is actually Israel, more specifically Mossad behind the riots. So does that mean that Mossad is plundering and looting synagogues and Jewish businesses? Perhaps Mossad needs to cover up its own mischief, who knows?

One can make an educated guess that the Far Left participates in this debacle as well, one can only look at the list of numerous groups and organizations that presumably or using the euphemism “allegedly” inciting, supporting and spreading disorder and anarchy around. What does Emmanuel Macron, the French President have to say about the havoc already accomplished? Really not much at least as far as his contributions of policies to this mess go. He even blames the riots on the US war with Iran. That this timeline does not explain fiscal and societal problems in France that go back quite a few years before the war does not bother him. Just to make sure that he would not be blamed for mishaps in the near future he retreated to La La Land, not to California, but to the Gulf States where he is hoping to secure somewhat cheaper oil for France. His first visit was somewhat tone-deaf as he ended up in Qatar, the well known supporter of Hamas and Muslim Brotherhood, all have most likely their fingers in the French connection as well.

As I pointed out above other groups and elements already accuse Jews and Israel for the disturbances. So much for France, my question is what happened to Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité? Is it all gone, wasted and replaced by what? Free Palestine and Globalize intifada? And who is next on the chopping block? Apparently, discontent started overflowing in Italy and Albania. I would not be surprised if it spreads to Belgium, Spain, Great Britain, Canada, who knows?

Let’s finish on a cheerful note with the Tom Lehrer’s song about The National Brotherhood Week:
Oh, the white folks hate the black folks,
And the black folks hate the white folks.
To hate all but the right folks
Is an old established rule.

Oh, the Protestants hate the Catholics,
And the Catholics hate the Protestants,
And the Hindus hate the Muslems,
And everybody hates the Jews.

But during national brotherhood week, national brotherhood week,
It’s national everyone-smile-at-one-another-hood week.
Be nice to people who
Are inferior to you.
It’s only for a week, so have no fear.
Be grateful that it doesn’t last all year!
